My dread journey

Hello everyone! Since last posting i'vehad and removed my dreads. I thought i'd finally upload some photos of before, during and after. I had them for about 9 months. I decided to comb them out, as i missed having brightly coloured hair & couldn't wear a wig over my dreads (Not allowed unnatural hair colours at work)

20 hours and a week later

Then I hit the bonacure

Then i dyed it with Pravna silver, but i don't seem to have any pics. This is it after combing out the last ones. Took approx 1hour a dread & took me 2 weeks

After the first wash

Love how you look with dreads! And wow @ the bonacure result, did you leave it on for ages or something? I never got that much purple when I used it, but I let it sit for about 5 minutes and used it when showering.

Do you miss your dreads? I had a small dread journey of my own and I miss them dearly. Sometime in the future when my hair does have a good length I might have to get them again. πŸ™‚

All of these photos are amazing! Especially the post-combing fluff! How did your hair feel after coming them all out??

You so suited the dreads. Your hair looks amazing!

Thank you everyone. Rij, i leave bonavure on for half an hour, as I love the colour it gives. I do miss them (especially as I only combed them out to dye my hair, which I wasn't allowed to do at work. Found out last week I am. So that's excellent and annoying) but I love being able to wash my hair and let it air dry. Also they were annoying me a bit. I'm glad I had them and glad they're gone.

My hair felt pretty good suprisingly. I'm quite precious with my hair, so it was still conditioned and stuff. Ended up needing 2 inches off. It's definitely a lot thinner than it was, but I've always had super thick hair, so it doesn't really notice.
