I'm really wanting to dye my hair orange but currently its Directions Turquoise (diluted and faded)
What base colour do I need to achieve a bright orange?
And how easy is it to go back to turquoise again afterwards If I decide it's not for me?
I've done pink before and that was easy.

Turquoise and orange are opposite colours on the colour wheel. That means they cancel each other out and make brown 
Having said that, if you can get the turquoise very, very pale and you use a highly pigmented orange, you might be ok. Do a strand test first though because it could make the orange turn more of a rust colour than a true bright orange
Orange is often as hard to remove as blue/turquoise though, so don't expect it to be an easy transition. Going from orange to pink would be much, much easier though, so that could be a stop gap to turquoise if the orange stains.
