I dont think you need a bleach bath. Toning with a good purple shampoo should get you there. My hair is usually this color when i tone it with the redken silvercharge shampoo.
Yeah, already toned 3 times with diluted purple and bonacure, so it's not there yet 🙂 it doesn't need much, its very close.
Love it! If you've tried all that toning then I would try a quick, low vol bleach bath, but I'd definitely test strand it first. Not everyone can achieve a WHITE white, you have to have just the right melanin distribution/genetics to where your hair will safely lighten to such a delicate, diffused, super pale, very low saturation pale yellow. Even just a little bit too much melanin remaining will result in just a light cool blonde once it's neutralized. You need just a small amount of pale yellow to neutralize with a small amount of violet to give it the appearance of being completely colorless.
Yeah, I know I might not get it, pretty sure I won't to be honest! I have a hell of a lot of yellow in my hair with very little red. I often get white ends, which gives me that little bit of hope 🙂 it can take another bleach bath, so one more try. If it doesn't happen then, I'm actually rather enjoying platinum blonde so that's ok. Though I'm still making myself jump in the mirror!
I love it! I've actually just learned about this bleach bath, and I'm going to try it. I'm a light blonde now, with faded and barely there neutral/golden blonde lowlights. I'm going to do a bleach bath with 20 vol. and see what's in store for me! I'm hoping to achieve a similar look to this, but a little skeptical. It may take a couple of bleach washes. What are you using for conditioner?
That looks great Janine!! I'm almost there too! I wish I could show a pic but I'm in the States and this webisite just won't let me add pics. I have been using purple Shimmer Lights shampoo and it has has really helped chase the yellows away.
But what has really turned the tables on toning for me is this: I dilute Pravana "Silver" with the "Clear" one (or with semi-permanent toner like manic panic Virgin Snow, or white conditioner). Mix 1 part "Silver" to 2 or 3 parts "Clear". This method has kept me away from using toners that require peroxide, my hair is damaged enough from bleaching the previous color out!
ALSO: I hope you guys have this across the pond: Roux Fanci-Full Temporary Haircolor Rinse! I've been using the "Ultra White Minx" color after each wash and it helps a lot! It's a really inexpensive and super easy way to get closer to white! I just bought the "Silver Lining" color to mix with it to see what happens….
