My Daughter's Rainbow

My daughter's rainbow hair seriously rocks!  I love it, she loves it, pretty much everyone loves it and it's a major conversation starter that helps my shy girl make friends.

Today on the bus a few BULLIES decided to target her, and honed in on her hair.  She came home sobbing.  I was devastated.  So, what does Momma Bear do?  She calls the salon for an emergency hair cut, pampering, and ego boost!  πŸ˜€  I snapped a few pictures of my stunning girl post haircut & styling.

I've also added a picture of her hair wet on the first day of school, pre-haircut.  I think it better shows how the colors actually are arranged.  While it looks really cool blow-dried, that's not quite how the colors really are.  Her hair is naturally straight.

Seven colors:
Pravana vivids Violet
PV Blue
PV Blue mixed with neon yellow
PV Neon Yellow
PV Neon yellow mixed with my pink mixture
PV Red
PV Magenta mixed with Special Effects Atomic Pink

She's only 10, so I don't do a full color.  (OK, I'm also terrified of bleaching it.  So I try to leave enough that she would end up with hair if I completely destroy it and have to have it cut off.)  I leave the top her natural color.  The "tips" seem to get longer every time I bleach.  Lol.  It's almost full head now.

Thanks for looking.  πŸ™‚

Nancy

Beautiful rainbow! Aw, what a sweetie. I'm so sorry to hear that; kids can be so awful. But if it wasn't the hair I'm sure they would have found something else to zero in on. Looks like she's all smiles now! πŸ™‚

Thank you.  πŸ˜€  That's what I told her - that bullies just like being bullies and will find something to bully about.  If it's not her hair it would be her freckles, that she has cat pictures on everything, etc, etc, etc...  I think having everyone at the salon fawn over her hair absolutely helped her believe that her hair is special and a good thing.

The boys are likely just jealous, too.  Maybe they don't want rainbow hair, but I would bet that they would love to have the nerve to be "different"!

It looks absolutely amazing! I hate bullies, kids (and even adults) can be so ruthless. I'd say to try not to listen to the bullies as she looks stunning, but I know it's hard. So sorry she has to go through with this stuff.

Such a cutie! I know how she feels with the bullies, I was always 'different' and used to get told that if I tried a bit harder to fit in they would stop - happy to say I still don't try to fit in, tell your lovely, creative daughter not to sink to the level of small minded idiots and just carry on enjoying her individuality!

Wow I love it! Tell your daughter no matter what others she is beautiful no matter what. I was bullied for years and there is a light at the end of the tunnel <3 Hugs to her.
