I think a lot of oils are a YMMV product. I personally prefer using a tiny bit of coconut oil before bed to fully dry hair, brushing it through thoroughly and leaving it (by the morning it's soaked in enough that it doesn't look greasy) but I know this doesn't work for a lot of people. I've used argan oil on wet hair after conditioner and liked it, but when my hair's uncoloured it makes it look greasy.

If you used everything that was in that pipette, that was probably way too much. I have tons of hair and I use about a third of that much then rub it into my hands and only then do I run my hands gently through my hair.
