Thought I would show you guys my results from my bleach powder + water paste test strand. This technique really is awesome! For my hair to even get close to this point, I normally would have to do a couple vitamin C treatments and a couple Head + Shoulders heated caps. I hadn't tried fading my color at all before this, so this was on hair that was dyed maybe a few weeks ago. I would definitely try to fade your hair with normal fading techniques first, like the ones here:

And when those don't take any more out, try combining them like this one:

Save this one for last, but I would definitely try it before full on bleaching/bleach bathing if you still have color left.
For this you just start with some bleach powder in a bowl, and add a little bit of hot water to it at a time so it makes a thin paste, and apply it. Not sure if the hair should be clarified first, or if oils would hinder it at all, but this was on hair that had some coconut oil on it still. I wrapped it in foil and left it for about 10 minutes and rinsed/shampooed it out. It feels about as damaging/drying as a 10 vol bleach bath for a few minutes, it really doesn't feel bad, just kinda dry. I would treat it as a bleach bath though, so if you've used a permanent dye or bleached, wait a month to do this and wait at least a week to do any more processes, or if you've done a bleach bath, wait at least a week to do this and wait at least a week to do any other processes as well.

I tried it yesterday, for about five minutes because omg, my hair and it took out a lot of the cerise!
Also: I'd basically drowned my hair in coconut oil and it still worked, so that might be a tip for others, don't know.

OMG that's amazing, what great results! Thanks for doing a tutorial on this technique and especially for including such vivid pictures, as it seems like another proven way to fade hair dye.
And as a side note, I do love that purple shade you've created. 😀

@Odette yay I'm so glad! I know you weren't liking the Cerise at all, really happy you were able to remove a lot of it 🙂
@Alexia Thank you 🙂 I'm still loving my color but I'm starting to get that I want to change my hair itch, but at the same time I'm just not ready to give up my current color! lol. I think I'm going to slowly, slowly fade it with just shampoo under a cap and overnight oil treatments over the summer. If I still want a dark grey by fall/winter (that Nirvel Grey you bought!) hopefully my hair should be ready by then. That is, if it's not permanently stained bright pink from Atomic Pink lol. I think if I can at least get it a few shades lighter, maybe add some blue toner to make it more a cool lavender, I should be able to get a dark grey like the Nirvel Grey over it later this year.

Yeah, Cerise and I aren't friends. 😉 I think I added some photo's in my own topic to show how much I faded it (not only with this treatment though) but I'm not sure as my browser is acting up.
Your plan sounds great! You mean like a gunmetal grey?

Oh wow, it faded a lot @Odette! Awesome! And yeah, I'd like a dark, gunmetal grey. I want to use Nirvel Artx Nutre Color (a semi) in grey, it's a very dark, neutral/brown based grey, which I think will be easier for me to achieve than something like Pravana Silver, which is also a dark, gunmetal grey but not as dark as the Nirvel Grey, but it's more cool toned and I think it would just pull my hair more to a lavender. I'll probably use that to start along with some blue, before I use the Nirvel to give me more of lavender + help kill some of the pink! lol

You could chuck some diluted blue toned green over the pink to neutralise it and then put the grey over. I have been experimenting with greens added to pinks and purples to create silvery lilacs since I read that Kelly Osborne uses a mix of mint and lavender. It is a more grey toned, neutral kind of lilac, which I am preferring atm, (just not feeling the bright colours right now.)

@katiesiepierski, I can't wait to see your journey to gunmetal! (that is, unless another colour becomes more inviting before you go Nirvel :D)
You've certainly got some great fading techniques to use, and I think you will really be able to pull off a dark grey very well. I'm so tempted to darken mine myself because I love the look of gunmetal!

I love the look of that Nirvel dye and am constantly tempted to try silver, but I am scared of looking like an old lady :/
What do you think Alexia? (We are the same age) With lilac or other silly colours people assume I am younger, so I don't want to look my actual age, let alone older lol. Maybe I'm just being silly.

That's a good idea, thank you for the advice! That would probably be a better route to go, neutralizing the pink along the way instead. Thanks 🙂

@pastina, I was introduced to the grey Nirvel ArtX (thanks, Katie!), and I found it on eBay... very quick delivery too!
