Yeah 🙁 think its the break pads, the breaks are clunking when I use them so i didn't feel safe driving back home in it (I work 20 miles from home) so I've left it at my friends house and it's getting seen to tomorrow grrr

Yeah it does, only thing is that my car is 30mins away from my house in one direction and the garage is 50mins away in the other lol. I need the mechanic to get it road safe (it probably is but it doesnt really feel it) then ill speak to the garage I bought it from about if they're going to reimburse me or whatever (probs wont). Annoyinnggggg I was just getting a bit more used to driving every day. Luckily my mummy is ace and has lent me her car cos she can walk to work if she stays in the flat in town 🙂

Why do things keep going wrong?! Finally got my offer letter through for my job, and I'm told I need to be 'immunization compliant' within 2 weeks. The problem is is that I'm coming back to the UK in a week's time, so I have less than a week to sort this out which is actually physically impossible since I need 2 TB tests which have to be done a week apart, and I'm not even registered with a doctor in England anymore! Apparently they may fire me or put me on unpaid leave for a further 2 weeks, then fire me.

I really needed to know this several weeks ago to actually sort this out, now I might be fired before I've even begun this job. I can't believe this is happening. And I'll be all I'm worried about during my holiday, when I haven't even seen my family or friends for 8 months. Great.

Could you go to a drop-in clinic in the UK to get the immunizations you need while you're here?

I could do, but with drop ins you can generally only do one thing at a time, so I;d end up spending all holiday waiting in walk in clinics, which is the last thing in the world I want to do when I actually want to see family.

Also I think a lot of it is blood tests and they'd be no point as it'd take ages to get the results and stuff and then I'd be back in Canada anyway.

I'm so angry at them for giving me this ridiculous start date and not telling me I needed all this stuff sooner. On the TB test forms it says it takes 4-6 weeks and should be done BEFORE I start work for Christ's sake! I got all these forms on Friday at 5pm, and I start work Monday 8.30!

Asking a teenager to help with housework is like trying to clap with one hand, I'm gonna blow my stack in a minute  *gun*

My old landlord is a moron. I'm so glad we're out of there, we were in a small sort of gated thing, it was a bit weird. Everyone had known each other well and we came in just as everyone was starting to fall out with each other lol Our landlord was the worst and wouldn't pay for the gate to be fixed even though it was the tenants before us in his house that reversed their car into it. Everything went to hell gradually over the next two years, to the point one has now got CCTV, another hates everyone and another is so pissed off with everyone she is holding onto a package of my ex housemates that was delivered there by mistake and ignores the door when I go and knock! We had nothing to do with any bad feeling around and they were actually ALL really upset when we said we were leaving as we were good neighbours.

I am SO glad we moved when we did!

I did wonder that too, I don't know of any dress makers myself but it might be worth a try. I must have looked at a bazillion dresses and this was the only one which made me go weak kneed.

FizzWhizz - I'm a dressmaker, and could easily make that for you.  PM me some details (more pics if possible, and fabrics, timescales, etc), and I can give you a quote.

My moan - my laptop is dying.  Not a disaster in itself, but I do need it to run my business, and now that my funding from Cyprus which was supposed to be paid to me this month has fallen through, I don't have any money to buy a new one.  So if it does completely give up the ghost and die, my business is royally f***ed.  Thanks Cyprus banking crisis!
