Toning down blonde ombré ends

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of toning down my blonde ombré ends. I've had this hair colour now for 2 years and think it's time for a change. I've decided to tone it with Dia Richesse 7.32. Does anyone know what is the benefit of mixing it with the clear tone?
