(This is based on Pinky's original thread - thanks Pinky)

I thought this was a great idea for a thread as it's something we get asked about alot.  I did not want to edit Pinky's original post to cover all brands therefore I have created this new post as a sticky which will cover all semi perm hair dye brands showing their base colours or colours they fade to.  Please post on here and over time I will amend this opening post to show a list of the brands/colours and their base or faded colour.

The following is from Pinky's original post:

From Pinky:
Virgin Rose - Pink
Atomic Pink - Pink
Pimpin Purple - Pink
Cupcake Pink - Pink
Deep Purple - Pink
Blue Velvet - Purple
Blue Mayhem - Purple
Limelight - Green?
Napalm - Yellow
BAF - Yellow

From Pippachainsaw:
Nuclear Red- Orange

Obviously, all of what i say is my own experience, might not be right πŸ˜› Here goes, all the ones i've used:

SFX:
Blue mayhem - purple -> light pink

Directions:
Apple green - Yellow
Fire - Orange
Plum - Magenta -> lilacy grey
Ebony - Green (possibly blue on light coloured hair)

Crazy colour:
Sky blue - Baby blue (goes green if not bleached light enough)
Pinkissimo - Hard to tell, but just light peachy/pink colour on me
03 natural brown - Orange

Smart colour:
Blue - light blue -> silver

Rusk:
Radical yellow - Starts of greeny then goes yellow

Awesome!

I was looking at some of my old pictures from when I had Limelight in my hair and I think it's actually yellow based. Maybe someone else who has used it can also chime in?

SFX Cherry Bomb is mostly certainly a red dye with a pink base tone rather than true red/vermllion base.

SFX Electric Blue has a purple base.

SFX Wildflower is a blue-based purple.

Directions Neon Blue has a purple base.

Directions Midnight Blue has both purple and green-toned blue base pigments, I would argue more green base than purple.

Directions Atlantic Blue is a green-toned blue.

Directions Lagoon Blue has both green and purple base tones, I would argue the green tones are often more prominent than the purple due to the lightness of the blue.

Directions Turquoise is a green based dye.

Crazy Colour Sky Blue is a green based blue.

Strictly speaking, what colour a dye fades to is more affected by the base colour and porosity of your bleached/unbleached hair, and then decided by the base tones of the dye. For example, Directions Midnight Blue on extremely bleached white hair with NO yellow tones will show the purple tones in that dye more prominently (and fade accordingly), whereas when it is used on hair with more yellow tones the resulting blue comes out a lot more green-based.

Both Amplified Manic Panic:
Atomic Turquoise-fades to Puke green
Ultra Violet- fades to blue, then old-lady gray.
I don't recommend Manic Panic! I have to get myself some Special Effects.

Special Effects:
Pimpin' Purple- fades to magenta/pink

it goes lilacy?? madness O_o I bought it specifically cos I saw in the gallery it fades to greeny blue, as Enchanted Forest fades to light bluey green so I figured they'd stay matching lol
I am now very interested to see how it pans out lol
