Stuck with blue wanting to go purple/ pink

So back story. I was blue for YEARS or a mixture of blues and purples. I tried to go green, it just was blue. I tried to go directions plum  just faded stupidly fast to blue. So I did a a custom colour. One tub plum to two tubs cerise hoping to counter act the blue. Looked good at first apart from hot roots. Was an odd multi tonal colour. Very fast went....you guessed it blue. And what roots I had bleached blonde last dye job have fadded yellow

I don't want to be blue! Been trying a year to be anything but blue while working round the colour wheel.
My ambition was to go red months ago which I was about 8/9 years ago.

I have some bleach for a bleach bath (I struggle to straight up bleach my own hair but find bleach baths more forgivng). But it won't lighten this blue by much. It is well and truly ingrained in my hair.

What do you guys suggest? Plum is just to blue toned I swear years ago it was the perfect purple πŸ™
My own plum and cerise mix still had distinct blue tones.
If I put straight up pink on this it's just going to go pink roots but purple lengths?

If you can't tell already I like directions lol. Don't really have much experience of other brands so stick to this.
When my hair was shorter it was easier but longer it gets harder I find it dying my own hair.

Blue is the worst colour ever to get rid of! Bleaching it won't help, it'll just make it turquoise and cause unnecessary damage. You could try using directions Cerise with conditioner to make a toner. It would make your hair go purple. For the parts that are quite blonde, heavily dilute the cerise with conditioner.

Another option would be to fade it as much a possible or try the vit C method. If you could get it to a seafoam shade, the pink toner should tone it right out!

*update* You could also try one of the colour removers that are out there. Colour B4 states it wont strip fashion colours but they have been known to work in the past.

If you can get it to warm purple, you can work around the wheel towards red πŸ™‚

I'd say a pink over that blue will turn it a lovely purple. Maybe try Carnation since you said you like directions. I've never used cerise, but it seems a somewhat darker shade. I've succesfully dyed carnation over a similar blue to get purple!

The new plum is so annoying. It does turn blue in one wash or so and will not budge. Diluted it will pretty much be blue from the start, stay away from it, haha.

Yes, the old formula Plum had a lovely pink fade, the new formula turns blue and stains like crazy. (Interestingly so does Atlantic blue now too)
Either add pink to what you have now, or try the bleach powder/shampoo/oils fading method to get the blue out. It is the most effective and least damaging way to shift sticky colours.

Personally I would just bleach the roots and then find a nice pink based purple dye and put that over the blue. I think you'd end up with a lovely gradient going on. Maybe Special Effects Pimpin Purple or Deep Purple?

Did a bleach bath. Tried to tone down the blue with conditioner and a teeny weenie not of red. Yeah it worked. But Has added pinks and purples lol. I actually really like it a mix of dark pastel shades. But them orange roots ruin it.
Going to attemp cerise with conditioner and a bit of Atlantic blue over it tonight /tomorrow.
Or maybe section it in half? Top half cerise? Bottom half cerise and blue mix? Might make it it look more intention if it covers patchy?
My hair seems super porous right now after bleach bath and cerise even with conditioner is quite strong so it may not go as patchy as I'm imagining.
I can never make decisions with hair lol

As soon as I saw your hair, I thought oh my gosh that's what a unicorns hair would look like, it is actually pretty cool after just a bleaching, lol

Cerise should cover that no problem
