Ok, so about two months ago I decided to dye my hair half and half, straight down the middle. I used N Rage Feisty Fuschia on the right half (which turned a darkish red/pink since i try to not bleach my hair if it can be avoided) and One n Only 1N on the left half. The color has since faded, and the color just doesnt work for me anymore. I dont want to redye it, I want it GONE. And short of bleach, I've tried EVERYTHING. I've done the vitamin C treatments, clarifying shampoo, baking soda, dish soap, anything and everything. I'm really scared that the color wont ever be even again, and because my hair is so long, growing it out isnt really an option. I'd even go black, but then I read somewhere that when it fades the color won't be even. I cant find any tutorials anywhere for girls with hair like mine wanting to remove dye. The colors are already pretty close together, but I can tell, and it kills me. I have social anxiety and I dont even want ti leave the house because I feel like it looks so tacky. Please help, I'm open to ANYTHING.
Have you tried a colour remover?
No, I havent. Do you have any reccomendations?
It depends on what country you're in 🙂
USA
I think the one you need to try is one and only colour fix. I'm in the uk though and I'm horrible at remembering product names at the best of times, so it's that or color oops. But I'm 90% certain color fix is the better one. I need wicked pixie to make sure I'm right though!
Yes, i would advise One & Only Colorfix, available at Sallys
I used demi permanant hair dye, if I use the color fix will it make my hair an even tone again? Or will one side still be slightly darker/have red tints (i heard that red is really hard to get out, but my hair has natural red tints so im not sure if itll blend or not idk)
It's impossible to say. You might have to do some timing to even it out. The peroxide in the Demi might have lightened your natural colour a bit, so it's likely to not come out exactly as it was before.
Basically, try it (you can do it up to three times) and see what happens, then we can try and help some more if it's not totally even. You've used two really hard colours to remove (assuming the other was black) so it's not going to be easy I'm afraid.
USA Here!
I used "Color Oops" (available at Walmart and Walgreens). I had a REALLY STUBBORN red stuck in my root regrowth (un bleached hair) and needed it OUT!
Color Oops took ALL the red out of ALL of my hair. I was left with a really nice blonde (basically whatever was left under all my crazy manic panic dyeing. lol
NOTE: Use only as directed!!! no more than the 20 or 25 minutes it tells you to leave it in. This stuff is STRONG and can be really damaging!
(photos on top are of stubborn red. photos on bottom is the after)
Yeah, the damaging part is why we don't suggest color oops. Colorfix isn't.
I used color fix to remove dark auburn from my hair and it works really well, I only needed 1 use and I was good to go. Its a good product and for me it didn't smell too bad, I know some people say color removers stink, but color fix worked well for me without the stench, lol.
