Roots and purple hair

Hello! So it's been a month since the first time I bleached and dyed my hair whole hair to a purple color, and regrowth is already starting to show. Since I've been maintaining the purple (although not adding purple dye to my conditioner, just doing  regular cowash right now), the color is still pretty vibrant. Problem is, i have natural black hair and when I bleached my hair last month I wasn't able to bleach my roots to a light enough color. Since I've already had regrowth I figured it's time to do a touch up. My question is, how do I make the pimpin purple dye blend well to my hair color right now(which is also pimpin purple). do I dye my whole head again or do I just dilute the dye for the roots so it's closer to how purple my hair is now? And the part where my roots was darker the last time is a bit darker right now compared to the rest of my hair, do I bleach that part too along with the roots then dye over it or just bleach the regrowth and just cover the darker parts with more dye? Thanks πŸ™‚

You'll likely overlap anyway when you do your roots. It's hard not to do when you're new to doing it (assuming you are...). I still do it most of the time, unless my hair is in an iffy state!

What are you using to bleach? Maybe you need a better bleach powder, my hair is about as dark as yours and I can get it very pale with a 20vol peroxide, so you should be able to with a good bleach powder and making sure to keep it warm.

As for the dye, just put it all over πŸ™‚

I was able to bleach the rest of my hair a pale blonde but I panicked while  doing the roots the first time and rinsed it out after 8 minutes that's why it's uneven Lol. I was afraid my hair will fall off since I wasn't used to bleaching and I haven't discovered this forum yet at the time so I didn't know about coconut/argan oil before bleaching. I'm using l'oreal platinum paste ammonia free bleach. I'm not sure of the volume because my friend who is a hair dresser just gave me the developer she had extra in an unmarked bottle. Will the bleach fade the color on my previous roots to a light enough purple color and not into a light muddy brown? Thanks πŸ™‚

Is there a way to prevent the bleach from bleeding too much to the rest of my hair besides the old roots that seriously needs a bleach touch up anyway? Lol

Pimpin purple goes bright pink when bleached, it might look red over a ginger base, but you won't have any issues covering it with more purple.
I am not sure what you mean by 'bleeding', bleach doesn't bleed. it does expand a little whilst developing, and it will take some of the colour off the rest of your hair when you rinse it out. I always put coconut oil on all of my hair when i am bleaching my roots, to protect my lengths/ends

Hi! Yes, sorry I meant dripping onto my lengths/ends when I rinse the bleach off. Can I use argan oil to protect it from the bleach instead of coconut oil?

You can, it has the same chelating properties and lauric acid, it is just much more expensive than coconut oil. (It has to be pure argan oil, not the stuff sold in drug stores which is all silicones with a small amount of argan oil)

Argan oil works, yes. Coconut is a lot cheaper though πŸ™‚

If you mix bleach correctly, it won't drip. If it drips, it's too runny! When it runs off with water, it might slightly strip a bit of colour, but as you're dying with the same colour again so it won't matter.

ETA - Wicked Pixie got there first πŸ™‚
