hi
My fiancée and I are getting married in two weeks today. She already has permanent red hair dyed from shop bought product, which is not bad but it isn't bright enough (wed like a BloodRayne red the game version sort of red,) we want to dye it a bright red that will last and wont bleed on to her ivory dress if she gets sweaty or rained on.
I hear semi permanent ones are brighter but can bleed and fade easily. Please can any one help recommend and advise us. We need to get in over the counter or in the post within the next week. we are in the UK in Manchester.
thanks
John
Hi John, will she be wearing her hair in a way that it doesn't touch the dress (an up-do, or shorter than shoulder length) or will it be touching the dress throughout the day? I used to have my hair a very bright red but I'm afraid it can rub off onto light colours even if you don't get it wet!
There are methods to reduce this such as vinegar rinses that might make it ok just for the one day as I'm assuming she won't wear the dress again?
The best reds in my opinion are Special Effects which are applied over hair that has been pre-lightened with bleach or a bleach bath (bleach diluted with shampoo) to a ginger or lighter base colour, however these dyes do mostly give a lot of rub off! You may find that a less long lasting dye such as Directions or Adore will cause less rub off from dry hair, but if it does rain I'm afraid she will end up with pink streaks on her dress from any bright red dye in my experience.
