Purplish pink hair washing out

Hi,
Here goes: I have been a big fan of bold hair colors for awhile now and first made the big leap with a mix I made out of "Vero-K-Pak"'s peacock green and blue. The resulting color was a dark teal perfectly bluish for me, loved it and cherished it for 4 months and I decided to change it lately. Last thursday I died them Magenta, with " Vero-K-Pak" again. My problem: it washes out of my hair like crazy!! *ott* it is still beautiful, vibrant and bold, but it leaks on my clothes, nails, between my fingers, my back when I just washed and now my tub is all pink even though it was not white!!!! -r- My teal never did this! NEVER!! In barely a week, I have grown to hate this color because it has rubbed on some of my favorite clothes, my nails are all pink, so I wear polish all the f*****g time AND it doesn't seem to stop!! I used an after-dye locking treatment by "Chii" like I used to with my teal, but it seems to be useless. I like the color and would be very happy if this slight but desperatly ennoying detail could get better!! Otherwise, I Will change it again and I am sooo scared now that any other color I do Will just do the same d**n thing!! -r-

Please, please, help me!!!!!

Love and flowers!
L.

It's an unfortunate side effect of some colours when they are very highly pigmented. To stop it in future just mix the dye with conditioner to dilute the high pigmentation. It won't affect the colour, just mix with enough that the colour in the bowl isn't diluted at all. Any more than that an it will affect the colour, but it'll stop that horrendous run/rub off.

To help now. Get some clarifying shampoo to wash and use that until it stops rubbing off. It shouldn't take long. You're effectively fading it, but it'll fade very little. You can also do vinegar rinses to close your cuticles which can help.

I had a similar problem with SFX Candy Apple Red, which is a pinky/ purpley red and literally nothing helped, there are still marks on walls in my parents house from me leaning against them! Still it's worth a try with the methods Janine mentions above, they'll certainly lessen the problem even if they don't eradicate it entirely!
