Perm Pink? Help!

Hi ladies,

I'm currently a bright red...usual routine:

100ml peroxide (12% 40vol) mixed with 1 tube of Majicontrast Red. Leave for 20 mins. Job done.

When it fades, for a change, I've been applying the XXL schwarzkopf Shocking Pink. Great colour, VIVID and really does hold when washed.

QUESTION: Rather then using the Schwarzkopf is there a PINK colourant I can mix with the Peroxide like I do with the majicontrast for the red?

(I've used crazy colour / special FX and all of those just wondered if there was anything more perm)

majicontrast should never be used with 40 vol hun - its 20 or 30 max. 40 vol is too strong. It should only also ever be used on virgin hair - so new roots only, defo not to touch up the already processed parts. I would reduce your peroxide now to reduce the danger of scalp burns and damage.

As far as i am aware there is no pink alternative to majicontrast. The closest is magenta red.

Atomic Pink from SFX is as permanent as pink can be. You could fade out the red as much as possible, and bleach the roots and apply a pink. Its the same process, it will just take a bit more time, but its safer for your hair and you can judge the lift better. It's a old youtube myth that majicontrast is a "no bleaching" method - its pretty much the same.

I agree with Swilks, 40 vol is very very harsh. Using it allover is overkill especially using it repeatedly over the lengths. The safest way to use 40 is like when you're doing allover foils on long, thick dark hair or something that is taking a long time, and use it on the last few foils you have for 10-15 minutes so that it all processes to an even color. it is so strong it basically just rips the cuticle open and getting bad damage from it is common.

Atomic Pink is the mother of all pinks + lasts forever. If you want a very long lasting pink that's the way to go. You can still do your roots with the majicontrast or with bleach powder + peroxide, then just use the atomic pink over it.

Thanks for the good advice ladies! I've only been doing the 40vol every 4 months or so but you're right it is really too strong.

How does the Atomic Pink hold?

I used to use the Nuclear Red SFX but found it constantly stained / came off on everything :/ which put me off trying any of the other shades.

I believe it can have some rub off issues, but just dilute it with some cheap white conditioner and it'll be better. It won't affect the colour as it's so strong. It can even help as the last batch was quite red if applied without diluting. I don't know how this latest batch is yet as it's only been available for a week, in fact it's out of stock again now, but will be back soon.

It hold amazingly well. It lasts longer than any dye I have ever used. Janine is right though, add a good squirt of conditioner to it, it really helps with bleeding/transfer. When I first used it, I expected my tub to look like a Barbie massacre of some sort, but the water was just a light pink. Using cold water when you wash your hair helps, using sulphate free shampoo or have a search on here for CO washing, doing vinegar rinses, etc..combining those things makes a tremendous difference in lasting power and bleeding.
