Long story short I used the funky batch of directions plum that went blue. It's faded and so I put a semi red based brown on it, that just washed out leaving murky green horridness... A month later I used a maroon red , this worked wonderfully! It was a permanent one too so I was convinced I'd solved my green issue...
Only now it back and haunting me...
How in the world does permanent dye WASH OUT?!
Why is my hair turning bright green again ?
How can I be rid of it?
I had this issue a year ago and I went to a hairdresser who I believe double processed my hair as she bleached it and it went an even brighter green and then put a red based brown on my hair that I believe was also permanent.
I paid £90 for that and I refuse to do it again since I can do that at home for a lot cheaper!
Guys what can I do? This is why happens when I try have normal hair, it fights back!!
I'll go any colour to he rid of this green... (Except *bright* red... I'd look awful)
Could you try a brown semi? I think bleach would make it greener so I'd say avoid that. Or you could maybe colour b4 it a couple of times till its neutralised any colour you've already got and look at where you can go from there then
Permanent dyes tend to wash out/fade quite quickly over bleached hair.
The way I do it is to first neutralise the green with a red semi. You can find the shade that will be perfect by putting a photo of the green into negative.
Then put your brown over the top. I would go with Adore, they have some lovely browns, but avoid mocha and honey brown as they have a green base. They have lots of warm/dark browns to choose from though.
Colour remover to get the green as pale as possible is a good idea, if you can get your hair to look bright red you will get a nice brown over it, and should avoid the green fade.
I would try a color remover or two because it sounds like you have some color buildup. Then I would try fading treatments to try and get the green as light as you can. I would then use a strong red semi over it, then go over it again with a brown semi
Thanks guys, well I don't think it's too much colour as I've cut a lot off my hair and haven't dyed it that much, I've had worse! Haha, yh I really want to avoid bleach, I was thinking of tryin the Vit C fade technique? I have a Scott Cornwall colour restore in deep red? You think that will work?! Xx
