Why does a lot of people hate Manic Panic, a friend of mine says it doesn't last long for her. There's another Manic Panic Amplified: these are the ones I'm willing on purchasing. They're on sale at Sallies Beauty supplies and was thinking of buying a few of them and a lot of people keep telling me to save my money and to not waste my money. Are they right on this suggestion? I'd like to hear people's thought's on this please. I'm willing on trying anything as long as it last longer than four to six weeks cause I want my money's worth. π
It's worth a try. Some people love them.
For me, I never get great coverage, they never look as rich and they wash out fast.
I am totally in love with their atomic turquoise. Probably the nicest turquoise on the market at the moment (well, for me!)
They probably last about 3 weeks before I need to redye again.
definitely worth the try like Janine said.
I don't think the amplified line is worth the big price increase, but otherwise I like Manic Panic. I find for me, the dyes last a long time and make my hair feel really nice. Some people don't have good luck with them though. Some of the colors aren't that strongly pigmented and don't last well while others are hard to get rid of so it also depends on the shade. Also I've had some jars where the color has been off (like years ago I got 3 jars of Hot Hot Pink that were neon orange, my current jar of Wildfire is straight up magenta not orangey-pink-red). And they discontinue colors with out any warning.
I'm actually going to try atomic turquoise Meeshy. I remember using it years ago and I don't think I liked it, but I don't want to risk the new directions turquoise at the moment!
I am completely in love with Atomic Turquoise Janine, I really recommend you give it a go π
For me manic panic dyes fade without even washing. It just doesn't stick to my hair for some reason. I did have good coverage when I dyed straight out of the pot, but within a few days without washing it faded. No other semi dye I used does this for me. So I stay away from manic panic.
But it depends on the hair, I guess. I've heard others with my problem, but also loads of people who do not have the same issues.
i had some bad experiences with oranges in the manic panic line, so i gave up for years. but i recently tried some greens and blues (including atomic turq), and was pleasantly surprised. i still prefer sfx, though, for sure.
I find that on my hair, the manic panic cream formula (both standard & amplified) gives patchy results and doesn't last very long. I did, however, used to love their gel formula which was the original formula way back in the 90's when I started dyeing my hair bright colours. Sadly, this formula is no longer available. π
I am another one that Manic Panic just fades out of my hair without even washing. It's a total bummer, because their colors are so bright and awesome right after the initial dying - but then a few days later it's just a faded mess. Also, their colors are not pigmented enough to dilute(unless you're going for pastel) so they are not very economical, either. Punky, Pravana, and Adore have never failed me, so I stick with them π
I love manic panic. Their dyes always last very long in my hair and have great coverage. Although i agree with the previous comment about the amplified not worth the extra money. I find they both last just as long , approx 2 months, in my hair.
It really depends on the hair type i think. Crazy colors last 2 washes for me so i don't bother with them any more
I've always been quite lucky with Manic Panic - every color that I've tried has always grabbed onto my hair really well. π
their purples didn't last long for me, but their reds i love 100%. it stayed in my hair and didn't fade.
I've only used Enchanted Forest, and it started going yellowy after just two conditioner washes - which was a shame because it was a gorgeous colour.
