How can I achieve a dark copper/auburn?

Hi everyone,

I wonder if I could get some advice?

A bit of history; a dyed my hair a deep, bright red up until around Nov 2015 when I decided to go dark chestnut brown.

I'd like to go a dark copper/auburn next. I used Colour b4 three days ago to lift it a couple of shades. I'm thinking of putting a mixture of Adore dyes on, possibly cinnamon brown mixed with cajun spice, or possibly french cognac.

My question is, do you think I need to use Colour b4 again first to get an intense dark copper colour?

I have attached (I hope) pictures of my current colour in direct sunlight and normal light, plus type of colour I'd like to reach.

Thanks!

I got some lovely shades similar to those last year with various mixtures of Adore Cajun Spice and Adore Paprika (I didn't like French Cognac, it has a mustardy yellow tone to it that made everything look a bit muddy).

Mine were over a faded bright red (over bleach) so yours wouldn't come out as bright if you did it over your current colour but here are the links to photos of my various attempts (you might actually get better staying power over a darker base, I found mine faded to a washed out ginger very fast as my base colour was too light )

Hi Lauralei, thanks for your advice and photos, really useful. I went for Paprika and Copper Brown which I'll put on straight over my current colour and see what happens. If it's not vivid enough I'll just let it fade then try ColourB4 again.

Thanks  πŸ™‚

Sounds like a plan! I look forward to seeing how it turns out! πŸ™‚
