dyed brown to purple - HELP!

Hi guys, I have been using semi permanent brown dyes on my blonde hair for about 6 months. It basically really caught on my hair and has acted pretty much like a permanent dye, and the last time I coloured it was about 3 weeks ago. I'm looking at going an unnatural colour, maybe purple.

I was wondering what the process would be, if I would have to strip my hair of the brown semi-permanent colour or just go straight on with a purple dye?

Thanks for any replies/help  πŸ˜€

Do you mean direct dyes like Adore or the type of semi-permanent dye that you mix with developer like a box dye? (Often sold as 28 wash)

I mean what sort of semi permanent brown have you got on your hair? the first step will be getting it out.

OK, then your first step should be a colour remover such as Colour B4. This could take you back to your blonde base, although if the blonde was bleached rather than natural the brown may have stained.
Apply the colour remover to clean hair that has no product or conditioner on it. Keep it covered and warm and leave on for the full hour to get the best results.
