Directions Plum: still going blue?

Hi! I stopped using Directions Plum since it started purple but quickly went into royal blue and then into blue / green / turquoise depending on the base.

So my question is: did they keep with that formula? Or is it a TRUE purple right now? I want to order plum but if it goes like that again I might just implode.

So, anyone who has recently used it knows?

When they make batches I think they make them HUUUUGE. I wouldn't bank on it going back to the old formula or a new batch coming anytime soon. I heard rumours the formulas on blues and purples were changed due to an EU ruling, but I never found out if that were actually true. If it is, the old formula will never come back.

Aw that sucks. Any good mixes that resemble good old plum??

Unfortunately, the best person that I definitely know knew that was wicked pixie who sadly passed away recently. You might be able to google the question. I would do it for you, but I have to drive for 7 hours today and shouldn't even really be online now!

If you haven't found anything or no one else has answered I'll try and find out for you.

I know that Wicked Pixie warned me off Plum back in Feb of this year so it was still known to be bad at that point, she steered me towards Directions Violet instead but I use it over a dark base so it's hard to say what the fade is like on it, I just know it's not hugely long lasting on my hair, and has a sort of weaker consistency than other directions I've used (also just thought, I wouldn't know if it was fading green as I use it woven into Alpine Green so I just assume the violet has gone and the Alpine is left after a few washes).

Thanks for your input! I don't want any blue based purples, I need a warmer, pinker one instead because my hair bleaches to yellow and I don't want to go beyond that haha.

Might be worth your while trying out one of the Adore purples, I've not tried any of the purple shades but I've had nice vibrant colours from others in their range - they're not the longest lasting but the colours are nice and really easy to mix.

Adore's Violet Gem is quite a pinky purple; I've just used it yesterday.

Wicked pixie would have suggested deep purple by sfx, I'm using it because of her suggestion and it's a deep pink based purple like plum used to be. I dilute mine 50:50 with conditioner so it's not super dark and it's an amazing colour.

I was trying to remember what one of my friends used really heavily diluted to get a really vibrant fuchsia purple a while back, and now you mention it I'm pretty sure it was Deep Purple by SFX.
