right now, my hair is a purple-leaning pink. it was virgin rose, which i added streaks of atomic pink, pimpin purple, and mp rockabilly blue to when it started growing out. weeks have gone by since then, so there are variations in my pink, but it's a subtle effect now. ....it's mostly pink!
i've been toying with turning what i have into a non-traditional cruella, somehow-- but since i'm now *hugely* pregnant, id love to avoid bleach or color remover.
i'm thinking i'd like to leave half my hair pink, and cover the other half. i'm considering using an undiluted pimpin purple, an undiluted blue (i think i have most of a jar's worth of rockabilly blue left), or, going the other way on the color wheel and trying napalm orange. i don't know if any of these options would just muddy my color, though?
i think i'd prefer to avoid black semis, but if that's my best bet, that's ok, just let me know!! but does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Orange over pink will just make red, not orange ... I think putting a purple/blue over your pink would look pretty amazing, though
I second putting a blue over it, a purple based blue over your hair would make a lovely purple.
Depending on what shade your pink is, a blue might even just be blue over it. Otherwise it'll either be blurple or purple. I'd say go for it!
my current color is pretty bright-- though my avatar makes it seem a bit brighter.
i know that orange over the pink won't be orange. just like, i'm sure a purple over it will still let the pink show through. but that's ok! that's the risk i run by not wanting to bleach. i'm just looking for ideas on what will be the most obvious change, kwim?
what do you guys think about mixing napalm with a yellow semi? do you think that could shift the pink in a noticeable way?
other thoughts-- i've done dark teals over pink before, which have given me a purple shade. would that be better than trying pimpin purple neat? i was surprised at how pink-leaning it came out for me-- i remember it being more of a mid-purple (or even slightly to the blue side, when first dyed!) before it went pink.
or, is there a blue you might be able to suggest that won't go muddy? i'm worried the rockabilly blue will be muddy-- i wasn't too thrilled with the way it came out when i put streaks of it over my pink a few weeks ago.
I can't remember if it's one of the ones in stock just now but diluted blue velvet by sfx would go well,, I'm almost sure that it would go a pretty true purple if applied diluted a bit over pink. It's a very blurple colour anyway so it wouldn't be muddy.
I agree with blue. I recently got bored of my pink and put some blue on the ends to make a lovely ombre. I used my OH's old blues that he didnt like. Ion cobalt blue and crazy colors capri blue. It turned out a weird neon electric purple. It looked like my hair was glowing.
ok, cool! this sounds good, ladies! ...now all i need to do is to get off my butt and actually DO this, lol.
watch-- i'll summon some energy, get half way through applying the dye, and then my water will break!!
