Adore Mahogany has come out black

Hair history: the ends have been beached to palest yellow from medium brown, then dyed with permanent medium brown. The roots - about 1-2 inches - are virgin.

The ends were beginning to look quite faded and kind of sandy brown coloured, so I decided to put Adore Mahogany over the lot to try and even it out. Mistake! The ends, the old bleached bits, have gone black while the roots have gone the mahogany I expected. I put the dye on shampooed, damp hair and left it on for about 45 minutes.

:sigh:

What would be the quickest fading technique on this? I have some Jo Bazz but I've never used it with Adore.

I would soak it in dandruff or clarifying shampoo. Cover, add some heat and rinse with hot water after an hour or so.

I've used Jo baz on adore before, on mocha mixed with a gingery shade. Definitely try and fade it with shampoo for a few washes first. Jo baz took my adore browns straight out but left it bright yellow! So be prepared for a possibly weird result.also it might go patchy and pull out some of your other hair dye?
