RAINBOW HAIR! (image heavy!) – Page 2 – Rainbows

So after coming here for some help I've finally dyed my hair rainbow colours! There was a request to see how I did it so here goes :)I had a little trouble bleaching it as I've been dying it blue for the last 6 months and it didnt want to budge so I bleached it twice. It came out a beautiful pastel blue.My hair dresser then, going by a picture i found on flickr, sectioned my hair out like a sausgey pie chart!Then she dyed each section starting with red at the base and then on to orange, yellow, green etc in a clockwise direction. Every time she finished dying a piece she covered it in cling film (a method i think i picked up from here as I've been dying my hair blue, wrapping it in cling film then going to sleep with it like that!) so i ended up looking like I belonged on a deli counter with my multicoloured sausage sections covered in cling film!She put the dye in about 5:30pm and wrapped the whole lot in cling film twice more to keep everything in place. Then I put a shower cap on it and left it in whilst I slept and washed it out the next morning about 9:30am in a cold shower (brrr) To my surprise and great joy the colours didnt run, although my hair is royally f****d now. Nice and dry >_< I dont care though! The dyes I used incase anyone wants them are all Special Effects apart from the yellow and purple, as my friend helped me buy them as he had his hair done at the same time.-Red = Special Effects Cherry Bomb-Orange = SFX Cherry Bomb + Manic Panic Electric Banana-Yellow = Manic Panic Electric Banana-Green = SFX Iguana Green-Blue = SFX Fishbowl-Purple = Directions Plum-Pink = SFX Atomic Pink + Virgin RoseI've had SUCH a positive response from everyone I've met. Customers at work have delighted in seeing it and intrigued as to how I've done it. I washed it for the first time since dying it today and the colours are still SUPER vibrant and didnt bleed! Ive spent the evening plaiting it and getting carried away with playing around mixing the colours, so here are a few photos of the finished result!There's a whole load more on my facebook >_<

Thanks guys! I'm really thankful for the help I got from here. It probably would've ended up a mess without it!

Will keep you posted as it fades.

It's rubbing off on everything. My towel looks very pretty! And my PJ's are pink round the collar and my pillow is a lovely shade of purple.

I woke up this morning with a bright pink hand that faded into purple across my palm and purple up my arm! Nice to know I sleep in odd angles!

get a 500ml bottle, pu 2/3 caps of white vinegar into it, fill it with water. wash hair and condition as normal. once you washed the conditioner out, rinse with the vinegar and get out the shower =)

I'm going to be doing my rainbow in the next few days myself and I've been trying to decide what way I want to section it. Would you mind if I used your colour-wheel sections? My hairs much shorter than yours so it wouldn't look too similar 🙂
