hiii! New here, and new to coloring my hair like candy....so addicted! Colors used here are Splat pink and aqua. I was hoping the aqua color would be a little lighter, more on that in a few...
I did the initial coloring about three weeks ago, bleached the hair just barely yellow as per the advice of the beauty shop lady because she said if I bleached it too much the color wouldn't hold. Well, I didn't bleach it enough and it was super dark. I've been adding sections bit by bit so I don't overdo it, and cause I'm a super n00b so I wanna learn and not screw up! So this last time I re-bleached the darkest sections of the aqua and a new section and then re-colored all the aqua, and it was a bit more to my liking... but still too much green tinge!
I leave it in for about a half hour - forty five, after I apply the color I wrap in foil and apply heat iron on super low setting, that seems to have made the color stay in for longer, though after reading here I feel I could leave it in longer even, but still I feel like that with this particular color would just make it MORE green.....ahh!
Anyway, overall I LOVE the style! but the aqua color just isn't quite what I wanted, maybe should have gone for a purple or more of a true blue, this stuff just...I dunno, any advice is major appreciated!! I dunno its supposed to be aqua but its got kind of a green tint to it don't you think?? attached a few pics so u could see in different lighting..still all about the same..sigh, Could I put another brand or color on top of it? I love the pink and the style I'd love to have the aqua just right! 😀 I have a haircut in a couple weeks, my hair is SUPER healthy..I've thought about re-bleaching some more of the aqua and trying to lighten it or get it more the right color after I get it cut but I dunno, definitely gonna try to wait until then to do so....haha I also kinda wanna add more to each side...just a TINY streak or two (quarter inch) so that the color goes throughout the longest strands of my hair, but my bf begs me to stop while I'm ahead! 😛 **[eff that!]**

Great style and placement! I agree to the two longer streaks, i think you should put them just a lil bit further back from your fringe so there is a brown gap between your fringe colours and your streak colours then do the opposite on each side. So the streak on the aqua side is pink Nd the streak on the pink side is aqua 🙂
To get the aqua more blue and less green (which happened because there was yellow tones in your hair) you will need to bleach a little more. Try to fade the colour a bit

It's important that you do not fully bleach your hair more than once a month or bleach bath your hair more than once a week as you can damage your hair with overprocessing. Also do not bleach to white hair, this will damage it. Just get to a light blonde colour and either tone it to white or test strand some aqua to see if its the shade you want.
I'd enjoy the colours for now since you only bleached 3weeks ago and give it some time before starting again. On the otherhand if you change your mind and decide you want purple instead of blue just put it straight over the blue after you have faded it a bit and it will take just fine 🙂

Thank ya kindly Debbie :-D, and thanks for such awesome advice kitty!...Hmmm...what to do! I'm going to an epic solar eclipse music festival in 3 weeks so I'd love to have it looking *just right* for that but I also don't wanna screw it up cause it does look pretty good right now, maybe I'm just bored haha....sooo I'm definitely gonna wait two more weeks until I get it cut to do anything more...and yeah I guess I'll just wait till after the festival to work on it more...definitely love the purple option but it would be great to have my originally desired turquoise. BUT it seems like with only 3 weeks to go it'd be a bit of a crunch to fade the color and then do a few bleach baths, right? But I could possibly start fading the color now, it should be pretty well faded by the cut, ad maybe the purple would take right on top of that? Sorry if that's long-winded and hope those questions make sense...thanks again, these links are super helpful too! eeee such an exciting new hobby 😀 😀
