Actually a lot of good skin on photo's can be down to the lighting effects. If you use a bright watt light bulb with frosted, not clear, glass and aim it directly at the model, voila, her face looks smooth.

For sure!  Lightning is so important when taking photos.  When my OH and I had professional photos done by our friend last June, even the raws look great because of the lightning.  I have small but numerous acne scars on my face from my teen years and you can't tell at all in the raw photos.

I never ever take pretty photo's unless I have a good source of natural light, because my face straight up sucks in indoor lighting.

I know what you mean. I had to have mine black for all my interviews. If it's any consolation, it makes it all the better when you actually get to University and can do whatever the hell you want and nobody will care. 🙂
