I've got a really sore throat, even trying to swallow water hurts 🙁 It's also teamed up with migraines
Oh great and now I've got sickness and achy joints! On the plus side I'm watching nightmare before christmas
My ear has swollen up again 🙁
My sister the hair expert (not) getting on at me about my fade....first she says oh you'll ruin your hair, then she starts on ooh you haven't dyed your hair right, it's darker on top than the sides, you put it ALL OVER your hair...erm yer we know this is where it's faded due to sleeping etc........she must think I'm so thick!
Applying coconut oil to my roots before I box dye my hair and I have SO many grey hairs now 🙁 Another year and I reckon I'll have to strip my hair and move away from black, unless I want to look like a complete badger *ott*
Edit: dye now on. Managed not to blob the bathroom carpet this time but I somehow forgot to Vaseline my face and neck so I am stained blue all around my hairline. At least it will match my fingers as the gloves broke on two fingers and my nails are a minging navy blue now. I look like I haven't had a bath in a year.
Today is not my day *sigh*
Ugh. Asda are ... ugh.
A couple of weeks ago, we found a large plastic/rubber ring in a packet of Asda's Crunchy Stir Fry (photo below, for anyone curious). I immediately reported it to Asda, and it took them nearly a week to get back to me--at which point they asked if I could mail the item and the packaging back to them.
Um, no, because it's been thrown out, because you took a week to get back to me and I didn't know I needed the physical item when I'd already provided the packaging code as well as detailed photographs of the packaging and the item.
So now I've got "Sorry, we can't actually investigate what happened without it, so here's a goodwill gesture of a £5 voucher."
What? You can't actually investigate it even though you have ALL of the information you would NEED to investigate it?! I've written back expressing my serious disappointment in the fact that they can't investigate the matter (though I've accepted the goodwill gesture ... part of me wonders if I should have haggled, but I'm crap at haggling). I just can't believe that. I mean, it was truly disgusting and very large item in the packaging! It was at least six centimeters by three centimeters in diameter and one centimeter high.
I've looked in to whether or not they can actually say that and apparently the law just states that as long as they feel they have taken "appropriate measures" then they are legally sound. Apparently the "appropriate measures" in this instance is to simply forward my comments and photos along to the manufacturers and not carry through a thorough investigation without the physical packaging and the item itself, even though everything they would need it for is available in the photographs.
I'm disgusted. I wish we had a Tesco near to us so that we could take our business there instead. It makes me angry that I still have to shop there.

just had a horrid experience selling my old phone cash on collection from ebay, i had a bad feeling about the guy due to his private feedback and the fact that he had been buying a bunch of other phones (checked goofbid for his bid history) when telling me his was dead and needed a new one desperately.
i thought cash on collection couldnt result in any scamming by returning the wrong phone or pretending it didnt arrive so i accepted and had my brother and gsd sit in the room with me. as soon as i opened the door he barged straight in past me without being asked in or saying who he was and went to the coffee table and picked up the phone box asked if this was the phone for sale then ripped the box open and put his sim card in it to check it worked.
i followed him in and started telling him its features as he seemed to know little about android phones or what i put on the add, he didnt know what i meant by it having the latest operating system and kept asking if he could wipe it off (the entire operating system) to completely wipe my information from it. i told him i already wiped it and it was fresh to set up, his sim card didnt have very good signal on giffgaff in my house despite me showing him my 3uk one did and it was the area as my mums o2 network has bad signal in our area and giffgaff has the same network. fair enough he didnt have to take my word but he didnt even know how to get wifi to turn on and complained it wouldnt connect to HIS wifi which was probably 20 miles away from here and wouldnt accept that you need to scan for wifi networks before you can connect to them when you get in range.
after messing with the settings for 10 minutes and being quite intimidatingly interrogative and aggressive suggesting i was selling a shoddy phone, he tried to lowball me by offering half of what i asked for and when i said no he put it down and said he was leaving it, went to the door with him to say sorry and goodbye but he just turned and walked out without a word and slammed the door
i hate social situations with strangers as it is and feel quite shaky and annoyed, i have a ripped box and have been made to feel like i was selling something i knew didnt work when it obviously does
oh my god 🙁 how can a person walk into your house and do that?! can you report him to ebay or anything? what a nut!
How horrid! Sounds to me like a scam, tries to intimidate people into taking a lower price when he gets there. I'm sure many people wouldn't have handled it as well as you and would have just accepted the lower price to get rid of him!
thanks for the kind words guys, i know its not a huge deal compared to a lot of things people deal with but it was just so unexpected and he was really hostile :l i felt like a kid being scolded for lying! i had a go on ebay customer support chat but they said they cant do anything as its my word against his but will keep it in consideration if he has anymore complaints
Gilly i would have buckled if i didnt have my brother there just to get rid of him, i think he felt id give in as he was already here and was willing to offer cash now instead of waiting on ebay for another price
hope everyones having a better day than they were when they posted on here, youre all such awesome people
I hate this heat, I find it impossible to enjoy.
Whyyyyyyy didn't I bleach my hair last weekend? I'm dying of heat and have to have a stupid towel on my head to prevent me sweating bleach all over the furniture!
Spent an hour in Game so my son could trade in his DSi and a pile of old games for a 3DS. Somehow ended up being £20 out of pocket myself but figured it was worth it for a happy boy. But have just discovered the charger is broken so now I have to drive into town again, pay to park again and queue AGAIN. All I want to do is lie down and drink cider(!) 🙁
I'm panicking about flying tomorrow morning, I've had no sleep. And I'm really sad that Cory Monteith died 🙁 he was wonderful on Glee 🙁
XxXAcidXxX, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. At least you've reported him.
exoskeletal, this heat is horrible. I couldn't sleep very well last night because of it. Why isn't it autumn yet?!
TabithaBlue, more commiserations on the heat. I hope your hair turned out well.
FizzWhizz, sorry about all of the running around. I hope it got sorted in the end.
Ruby-haze, try to remember your breathing exercises. They will help. Just remember that millions of people fly every day and they're ok--and if it's the height that bothers you, shut the window or ask the person in the window seat if they'd mind shutting it. Put some headphones on as soon as you can and watch a film on your phone or tablet. It'll help distract you and cut out the airplane noises, not to mention by the time you finish it, you'll be almost there! Easier said than done, I know, but all of these little things do help. I hope you enjoy your holiday!
Thanks! 😀
