I read somewhere online that fleas can live it the gaps between laminate / floor boards, or they can live in soft furnishings (sofa / curtains etc) so one could have gotten in on your shoe or through an open door / window or something then bitten your cat? It could be another form of parasite though so getting the vet to test a skin scraping is probably the best plan.

I hope she feels better soon : )

She's got an appointment at the vet's on Saturday afternoon.  She's not in any pain at all, so I don't think it's really serious, she's not off her food or acting strangely, just licking the area that's affected, so it's obviously itchy.  Hopefully the vet will be able to give us a cream or something to put on it to stop her constantly licking it.  It probably is a flea - the building I work in has fleas (I know this because they put down flea traps under the desks and I'm always getting bitten on the ankles at work), so it's possible one could have hitched a ride home with me in the cuffs of my trousers or something.

I'd imagine its much like having eczema (which is more annoying that painful) its just that they don't have the common sense not to scratch it, and if they break the skin it can become infected - which would be painful.

If it is a flea infestation there will be visible flea dirt in her coat - it's tiny brown flecks when you part the fur. My (indoor) cats also had a flea infestation courtesy of a friend with outdoor cats. It is a bit miserable but easy enough to sort out with a bit of patience!

I'm pretty sure it's not an infestation - we haven't found any fleas in the flat, and we haven't seen any flea dirt in her fur.  If it is a reaction to a flea bite, I think it is literally a reaction to one bite.  We don't have visitors to our flat at all, so there's no way she could have picked up fleas from friends with outdoor animals.  We have visitors maybe once a year, if that, when my parents come to visit for one night. There's certainly no indication of fleas being in the flat in large numbers at all.  We'll just have to see what the vet says on Saturday, and go from there.

just realised that the darkness gig i bought tickets for is this friday.. and i can't go becuse i need sleep to be up at 4 to go to the meet 🙁

Personally I would do both and then die a little on sunday 😛

**EDIT** I forgot to put my moan on ha

I'm fuming because ive been offered a flat, but the person who is supposed to be moving out of it is a COMPLETE t**t and keeps putting her moving day back and so I can't get a definitive date which means I can't give my notice for where I am now and I feel like knocking on the door and putting my boxes in when she answers tbh!!
As well as that I've fallen out with loads of people at uni for a truly ridiculous reason, who are now acting like school children and childishly picking on myself and my uni bestie which is just irritating and pathetic because who does that sort of thing as an 'adult' really?!
And then I have a million bits of work to do and its just stress central PFFT

Robyness unfortunately I don't think people ever stop with the bullying crap. Most people grow out of it, but as an example I was actually bullied when I was working in an office a few years ago. They were totally vicious. I hope it works out with the flat thing. Moving sucks!

I really want lilac hair but I can't because I'm office temping at the minute :(.

My house mates girlfriend is here AGAIN! She was only here a few days ago when she stayed for two weeks! She never pays anything towards communal stuff the rest of us pay for (loo roll, soap, food etc) and she always parks in my space on the drive so I have to park my car in the dodgy car park round the back or ask my boyfriend to keep it at his, then I cant drive anywhere! aghhh!

When I get stressed I get mouth ulcers (yuck) and I have one and it hurts 🙁

Extra moan - I was supposed to be going out tonight dancing with my friends but evie had a dodgy tummy this afternoon and so I want to stay in to make sure she's ok. Also I wanted to make sure I have enough money to pay bills and stuff without it being a tight month. It's a bit rubbish cause I was looking forward to going out for once, but I'd rather have the peace of mind!

I'm bothered at myself for being bothered about something so trivial!

There is lots of rubbish stuff going on & I'm fine with it - all optimism and practicality. Was quite proud of myself for not getting down - the thing that ruins my streak??

My lovely husband got some dry shampoo for me but they only had one scent in stock - it smells like a dog ate pot pourri and farted on my head. I had to use it due to time constraints and now all I can smell is flowery bottom burps. It's bothered me all shift!

I feel like I can't talk to my best girlfriend or Mom about anything personal. If I don't get one of them information fast enough one will tell the other before I get a chance to? For instance, my SO father passed, I get a letter right away that my Mom has sent my best GF the news in letter form before I got to?( Mom doesn't use PC's). I didn't even give Mom the entire scoop when in town so how could she know all the details to write. So Pissed off besides the fact that I feel I wasn't given time to grieve yet without it becoming News and being pressed to talk when not ready.  And they wonder why I don't ever wish to talk with either of them.   *stars*

I really hate Sunday evenings - I hate saying goodbye to my boyfriend knowing I won't see him for a few days, and I hate knowing I've got to wake up early tomorrow to go and do my stupid job  🙁
