Good luck Laura!

I'm irritated by supadupa and people that ignore MASSIVE banners saying ON VACATION. Supadupa doesn't allow people to put shops on vacation and tell people that it's best for their business to stay open while on vacation. Well, there's actually a lot of reasons I don't want my shop to stay open and someone buying something and then emailing me to ask if I can get them their order in the states by Wednesday is part of the reason I want to shut! Yes, I can get the order to them in that time, but only if they pay for Fedex and to the detriment of my sanity as I have so effing much to do!

I can't complain about supadupa in any other way... but this is a big irritant.

Edit: and now I'm suspicious about the order as it's a jewellery company buying jewellery and wanting it urgently. Hmm. Don't like the way this looks.

do you reckon they're wanting to sell your stuff on for a profit? if so that sucks!

My moan: I just watched a PETA video about the fur farms in china, now I feel sick and depressed.

I don't know. I'd be fine with it if they were buying enough to wholesale. But they aren't. It's not like they couldn't copy the items from seeing them, but I don't want to help them copy it exactly if that's what they're trying to do!

Edit: I've told her I can't get it to her in time. It is mostly true seeing as I've had a hard time getting down to work today. I hardly have enough time to get out the orders I do have in time without faffing around with fedex. Even using the website to book pickups takes quite a while.

The cat needs to go to the vets because she has what looks like some kind of rash on her skin by the base of her tail and she keeps scratching it.  I hope it isn't fleas because she doesn't go outside at all and never comes into contact with any other animals, so I have no idea where she could have caught them from if it is!  I don't mind having to take her to the vets, but the moan bit is that it's going to cost us at least £70 (she needs her booster shots as well) even without any medication she may need for the rash, and we already have to pay out £250 for new tyres for the car this payday.  So even less chance of me being able to do anything or buy myself anything for my birthday now.  I actually can't even remember the last time I had an actual birthday present.

Have you changed her food recently? There are inexpensive hypoallergenic brands like James Welbeloved you could try? Could you try putting a bit of sudocrem on the area? Its safe if ingested in small amounts (in case she licks it) The vet will probably check for fleas / mites, some burrow so may not be detectable without a sample. Have you changed cleaning products or anything recently? If its dry skin you can give cats evening primrose oil - same as humans - for dry skin.

I really don't know what it could be - I don't think it's just dry skin because she has small red lumps on her skin that look a little bit like scabs (probably from where she's been scratching it), but they're very small, about the size of a grain of sugar.  We haven't changed cleaning products at all, and she constantly has different food, but always brands she's had before.  It could be a food allergy, but I'd rather see what the vet says before putting anything on it.

My cat was allergic to flea saliva (yum) so she got rashes that sound just like the rash you described! We had to change her flea medicine to advocate which kills the fleas on contact rather that program tablets which stop them breeding but still allow them to bite!
But it may well be lack of grooming (is the getting older?) my cat Salem got all dry skin when Magic, his sister, died cos she would groom him and he never did it himself! Also it could just be that you might have the heating on more than normal as this winter has been rubbish and the skin is just dryer than usual?

to be honest, it does sound like a reaction to a flea bite, but I'm really struggling to think of how she could have gotten a flea bite!  She never goes outside, never comes into contact with other animals, and we don't even have carpets, it's all hardwood floors.  The only possibility I could think of is that either myself or Lester may have picked up a flea somewhere and brought it home with us on our clothes?  We definitely don't have an infestation, because we'd know about that, but it's possible one could have gotten loose in our flat somehow without us noticing.

Fed up and exhausted of both job hunting and visa applications. My boyfriend has become obsessed with finding a solution to our immigration problem to the point where it's all he does/talk about, which I can totally understand why because he's desperate to stay in Canada, but it's completely stressful all the time. On top of this I'm still looking for a stable(ish) job. It's taking up all of my time and I'm not having any down time at all.

Less of a moan is that I'm sick of having job-hunting blonde hair. The jobs I'm trying for are all likely to accept alt hair but at the min I'm having to work with an agency so obvs 'business' only. I don't want to dye it brown or red or whatever because I'm finally light enough for lilac but I'm so sick of the root touch ups with the blonde. For some reason dark roots don't look so bad with colourful hair :(.

My fiance gave me his cold-flu-thing-of-death and now I have a smoker's cough even though I don't smoke and I just generally feel gross and ill and yuck. D:

I know cats can definitely pick up worms without going inside so I reckon they could probably pick up the odd flea or two as well! When I got Pixie as a kitten she had never been outside but came to me covered in fleas.
