3 hours and 4 nightmares after going to bed, I've decided to give up on sleep for now 🙁
working holidays visas for canada still haven't opened!!!
this is just ridiculous now!
Laura, my friends moved to canada last year on a working holiday visa and it took until May for them to go, its a lengthy process but its completely worth it 🙂
starving..
I'm having an "I want to run away from my life" days. 🙁
Fed up of being a bum now... Ive been looking for work since december after i left my job working in mental Health (long story short, bad company kept placing me with male young adults that were not under any circumstances to be left with young female staff as they were likely to attack). Cant find any work near me, i cant drive, theres NO public transport near me so i have to rely on taxis. Im learning to drive using my overdraft, but thats running low... urgh... i refuse to sign on and get jobseekers as im fully able to work and i feel bad/embarrassed about that.
I just want a job! Or a future of any kind -_-
There is no need to be embarrassed about signing on. It's there to help in just these situations.

^^This! Please don't dig yourself into a financial hole because you're embarrassed. Once you're working again, you'll be paying back in, probably far more than you'll ever take out IYKWIM. Good luck with the driving and the job hunt!
my boyfriend will be here in just under 2 weeks and my anxiety is starting to kick in 🙁 I hate this feeling so much.
Cyberpunk - don't be embarrassed about jobseekers. It is exactly what it says in the title - a benefit for those seeking work. It doesn't assume that you're not physically able to work, that's incapacity benefit (or ESA as it's now known), so don't feel bad about using the benefits that are designed to help people like you when you're looking for a job. FizzWhizz is right, once you start working again, assuming a relatively average working life with few, if any, periods of claiming benefits, you'll be putting much more back into the government in the way of taxes and NI than you ever took out!
Exactly!
I claimed way back when I just left college. For about 6 months I think. Back then it was about £30 a week I think. I can guarantee you, I've paid that and a hell of a lot more back since then!
This is why we have benefits. It's not to be abused, but in times of need then it's there to help us bounce back.
I don't know what the IEC are playing at Laura! You're going in May, right? It took about 2 months to hear back when I applied, but it looks like they are trying to simplify the process and speed it up. It's shocking though, they were supposed to have info about the new process way back in October!
UUUGH! I ordered some stuff in the Esprit sale, according to Parcel Force it was delivered at 12.49 and has a signature.
It wasn't delivered, I was in, our doorbell works, the signature is not mine but it's obviously someone trying to make up a signature. So annoyed, already submitted a complaint to Parcel Force, may send one to Esprit too.
Have you checked with the neighbours? I just had the same thing with fedex, then found that the driver had called me and he hadn't been able to get through the gate, left it at another house. Not a very close one really. Course, wouldn't have found out if I hadn't have been able to ring him.
Also, my signature looks like total junk on those electronic things. Don't know why they bother with them.
Just proof it was sent to a person I guess.
They delivered to Close Court instead of Close End, numpties, they do it a lot. Luckily I live in a village with a lovely post office so whoever picked it up took it down to the Post Office and one of the lovely ladies who works there rang and brought it up on her break (we're about 2 minutes walk away, I would've gone down to collect it but she heard my lovely flu voice and brought it up.)
Crisis averted.
