Cilantro threw me the first time.

I think most Americans tend to say it with a hard "a" instead of a soft one.

I have no idea what zucchini is! I know what our version of eggplant is though (aubergine, right?) lol

a zucchini is our courgette 🙂

I know all the common ones- freeway, faucet, etc... are there any others I probably won't know? I'm going to America Friday!

Ha, yes, zucchini is corgette and eggplant is aubergine.  Yeah, freeway is motorway, faucet is tap, um ... Americans don't use the word lift in reference to an elevator, and we use cans instead of tins, gas station instead of garage, gas instead of petrol.  We also like to use brand names for things ... a lot of Americans will call tissues Kleenex and plaster as in a sticking plaster doesn't exist in the vocabulary, it's a Band-Aid.  Oh, poorly doesn't exist either ... you are either ill or injured.  And chewie ... it's just gum.

Whereabouts are you going in America and for how long?  Enjoy it!

I like banana! When i was in canada i liked how they said it too lol

Hehe, I have to make my mouth go really flat and wide and actually drop my voice to say it English-style.  It feels really unnatural to say it that way!

Me and Jordan have been together for 3 years today! And we're going to the Christmas Markets in town later and then for food 🙂

Happy anniversary!  Enjoy the Markets and your food 😀

You won't be disappointed! I saw them at Leeds over the summer and they were absolutely fantastic! Have fun 😀

Thankyou! My other half saw them the last time they toured but I'm a virgin, hence the extra squeeing on my part. The last two gigs I have been to [The Dickies & The Damned, and my OH's band] have been rather poo so as I see it, the only way is up! Not looking forward to the walk to and from the station though, it's already -2C here :/

ETA: The Hives were ah-maz-ing, third best gig ever, only topped by Alkaline Trio and The Proclaimers, all these gigs have been this year, 2012 has been a great one for live music!

We arrived in Massachusetts last night after a 2 day journey by train. It's going to be great here. The cousin I'm staying with has a good head on her shoulders (as opposed to my other cousin and aunt who are freaking out about what I'm going to eat for Christmas!), and it'll be a healthy place to get back on my feet.

I am happy to be home. Recently, back in Denver, I would go into fits of sobbing, saying, "I want to go home," only to be force fed the idea that I *was* home. I lived there for 9 years. Proof that you can always change your life.

I only have a couple more bits left to get for Christmas, most of that is little things and food. Sorted!

Today we got Dylan's school photo back, and he looks beautiful! 😀

And I've not smoked for months and months now, I'd gone back to smoking after the stress of my nan getting ill in the summer and then passing away in the autumn. However, Dyl asked me to stop because it makes him worry (he's only 4 but he understands entirely what smoking does) and so we made a pact that I would never smoke again. And well, you can't go back on that can you? I feel so much nicer now that I've stopped again 🙂

I'm having to cancel my tickets to see it in 3D as I actually had no idea it was even filmed in 3D! I was really upset when I found out as I get horribly sea sick watching 3D 🙁 10 mind into one film I was running to the toilet to throw up! So I'm not sure when I'll see it now.

I'm feeling great today as we have the house to ourselves for a whole 😀

They do have 2D showings, at least at Showcase Cinemas.

Feeling really happy and content. Christmas is fast approaching and I'm feeling very thankful for what I have (my kiddies, my husband and such). Everything is bought for christmas and the things that we haven't got yet, well we can do without!
Spent the morning tidying the house and then watched the cbeebies panto on tv with the kids, they loved it and it was lovely to watch them giggling away 🙂

I also bought a new foundation and it's amazing! I have a few small scars from bad skin and it covers them without being layered on. It's so soft and nice! yay!

Oh, and we've lost our kids christmas stockings, but I'm going to make them some if I have time tonight, if not my mum has bought over some spare ones

Everything is great and I'm ready to relax for the holidays now 😀
