Hey, long time no post! I always come on here to check for great tips on hair care and dying, but have only posted maybe once or twice, mainly asking for advice. Sorry about that, I feel like a leech :-X
I dyed my hair two months before bleaching and let it grow with Argon Oil Light Brown hair color, which had a very purple tint to it. I failed to realize that it was permanent color, or maybe I did and thought I could get it to wash out or something. I'm not sure.
I thought it had washed out enough and I had the money and time, so I wanted to go white. My hair stylist, trying to do a professional job, bleached it three times, then waited a day, and gave it a bleach in which I had to be under a heater. She told me my hair still had a really purple tint to it, so she would just make it silvery-purple tinted. I told her that would be great and she put in the silver frost for a bit.
It's been about a week and a half, and my hair is barely recovered really. I'm sure it's impatience though, but my ends are very fried seeming. I've only washed it twice since it was bleached, the longer I don't wash it, the better it looks, but the heavier it gets, along with still having really bad fly away hairs. Should I use leave-in conditioner?
Also, the purple tint is much more pink and is making my hair look more blonde/pink and warm colored, than a icy blue-purple feel. Is there any way to get that nasty pink tint out and just leave the silvery-white hair?
Currently I'm using:
I'm not using any heating tools other than warm water in the shower.
If I understand your post correctly, the stylist bleached your hair 4 times in 48 hours. That for me is 8 months worth of bleaching!!!
your hair is bound to be extremely damaged after all that processing and unfortunately, there is nothing that will get rid of damage apart from cutting it. you can use re-constructors and conditioners all you want but the damage will still be there.
As for the color, i would keep using the purple shampoo. if you want the pink out, try using a clarifying shampoo to get the color out and then use the purple one to add the bluer tones.
I added some pictures so you could see it~
I figured she would use a professional bleach that would be less harmful, with good results. My hair itself doesn't feel that terrible, and the first wash was nice, but the second it seemed to not do so well. I myself would have bleached it slowly over the course of a few months, but I was afraid of the build up of bleach in my hair using my own products. I really wish she wouldn't have bleached it that bad though :/
There is no such thing as less harmful bleach, the professionals use the exact same products we do. Generally stylists try and give you what you ask for, so you walk out of the salon with hair you are happy with, which means they use stronger peroxide and do processes in the same day that would be better spaced out. The long term health of your hair is less of a concern for them. We have a thread here called bleaching Horror stories, most of them are done by professional hair stylists in a salon setting.
If your hair was worse after washing it probably had some semi permanent dye or glaze on that was helping it to feel nice.
I would stop worrying about the colour, it actually looks great. Concentrate on reconstructing and preserving your hair, you are likely to see a lot more damage over the next few weeks.

I agree with this - the colour looks lovely (really suits you) but you're going to have to do damage limitation on your hair. Bleach damage can take a couple of weeks or more to show up, unfortunately. Break out the coconut oil and have a really good trim and baby that hair as much as you can!
the colour looks fantastic on you even with the pink tones but if you hate it then keep using the purple shampoo and conditioner to tone it into a more silvery shade.
i would recommend getting it trimmed once a month until all the damaged ends have gone which has the added bonus of getting rid of those pink ends you dislike and in the mean time using a reconstructor with keratin once a week (aphogee 2 minute reconstructor or joico k pak) to leave on your hair for half an hour before deep conditioning or oiling to strengthen it up a bit between trims.
Thanks for the suggestions everyone ^^
It's been about 3 weeks now, to 4, and my hairs actually feeling and looking allot better π
I wash it at night with deep conditioner, purple shampoo, argon oil, and leave-in conditioner. The first day after washing is always the hardest, with my hair's ends still being somewhat dry and frayed, but by the second day of not washing it's almost perfect π I wash it once about every 3~4 days.
The colors greatly improved from me leaving in purple shampoo for at least 30 min to an hour every wash, it's now more white with just some small tint of purple color in it. I'm hoping the quality of hair will last a good while before I have to go in for a major cut ^^
