my hair is naturally very dark brown.i have only dyed it with semi permanent colors before. i want pastel purple so i am going to get it bleached in a salon. my question is how lighter can my hair get in one bleach session? can i get it enough blonde for at least a pastelish shade?

I would say it is extremely unlikely.  The texture as well as the colour will affect how much lift you get, and it will be better for the condition of your hair to err on the side of caution and use a gentler peroxide rather than trying to go from very dark to very light in one session. For pastel  purple you want a very light base, but it also needs to be even (pastels really emphasise any flaws in your base) so it is normal to need to bleach bath to even things up after the initial bleaching.

i think i am gonna let the hairdresser decide how lighter my hair could get and then put purple haze without mixing with conditioner and do bleach baths when it fades. pastel has to wait!
thanks for your answer ^^
