Up until today I had pretty much virgin hair, save the occasional dye for costume reasons (long since gone)
today I finally started something I'd always wanted to do- I bleached my hair! my goal is to get it a lighter white but it's already lighter than it's ever been, so I'm pretty happy with my results so far.
I'm wondering what my next step ought to be, and if i can use anything i already have when implementing that.
I can see that I'm gonna need purple shampoo probably, so I'm gonna get some of that.
as of now I possess:
Wella colorcharm 12A gel haircolor
Wella T18 Hair toner
30 volume developer
can i use any of these to go to the next step in whitening my hair, and if so how soon can i move onto that? Otherwise, what should i get next?
thank you so much for your help, i appreciate everything.
(my hair is quite hardy and has been pretty bleach-resistant so far, it's pretty short and fairly think, and naturally on the oily side)
The T18 is best used with only 10 vol developer on a light blonde base, it won't do much on darker hair even with stronger developer. It is designed to tone, not provide lift.
I would tone with a violet shampoo, applied neat over dry hair. Then wait a month and bleach again.
You will get more lift and less damage using bleach with a low vol peroxide. When it is a pale creamy blonde you can then use the T18 if you wish, or just tone with diluted violet or silver direct dyes depending on what final shade you want.
Here is where it's at now!
Thank you for the reply, so get some 10-20 volume developer and (after a month or so) re-bleach, then use the T18 with that developer too, and in the meantime shampoo with violet shampoo (and don't do anything with the 12A) ? Just wanted to clarify! thank you again.

That is what I would do, although TBH I would skip the T18 and just use non-oxidative toners if it were my hair.
You could use the blonde dye with the 30 vol, but i doubt it would get you to white, so then you have another layer of colour to remove, another chemical process and more damage to deal with etc You could try on a strand test, but still wait a month after your last bleach. Bleach will be more predictable in terms of lift.
ETA if you want maximum toning from your purple shampoo apply like hairdye to dry hair and leave to take for up to half an hour.
