Removing bleach blonde :S help!?

Hello again  ;D I was here a few months ago when my hairdresser dyed strips of my hair blonde instead of a full head of colour  *gun* anyways I'm here this time to ask about removing the colour completely. I'm wanting to buy home hair dye in most likely a brown colour (easier to keep up then blonde! haha) anyways I was told if I dye straight over what my hairdresser did (strips of like blonde/caramel and she used bleach, toner and whatever else they use...if anything else :S haha) my hair might turn a horrible colour ever green! :S So I did some googling and found out that you can strip colour from hair then dye it straight after! So I thought to myself perfect! But now I have just read something else that says if my hair was bleached that hair stripper won't take the bleach out? Is this true? and if so what am I supposed to do? Wait until it all grows out and be left with horrible roots for even longer!? Help?! Please and thanks  πŸ˜€

Yes.

You can only dye over it. What you'll need is to add some red back in. I will admit to being terrible with natural colours though, so I'll let someone else explain.

Janine is right, it sounds like you need to add colour back in.

Of course, bleach is not a colour that is hiding your natural colour, it has permanently removed the colour.  So if I understand correctly, any colour remover/stripper will not restore bleached hair to its natural tone, and a stripper will do loads more damage.  If the stylist used a blonde dye of any sort, you could think about using a colour remover to take it out, see what colour you've got to work with, and start from scratch.

With regards to what colour to choose, I will as well hand this over to someone who can suggest a good, true semi hair dye in the brown colour you hope to achieve.

Like Alexia said, Bleach is not a hair dye. It is a chemical which strips out the natural pigment of your hair. It lightens hair in stages and it does not deposit any color back like permanent hair color does.

I personally wouldnt bother with a color remover as your hair is dyed blonde so any color should take well over it. I would recomment a semi dye as well and definately use a warm based (reddish) brown if you dont want to get a green fade.

Do you have a photo of the kind of brown you would like to be? You don't need to use a remover or a stipper or bleach or anything, your hair has already been stripped of pigment. All you need to do to go brown is just add some pigment back into it. A warm brown semi like one of the ones from Adore would be good to use, but a photo would help us better help you to pick out specific colors to use
