So I have naturally dark brown hair and today I decided for funzies to see what light blonde hair dye would do to it. It came out a much darker shade than was on the box and a little coppery, but surprisingly nice. I'm wondering if the dye will fade since I did not bleach or strip it. Also if it does fade should I use a darker blonde color to re-dye it in order to achieve the same color since my hair is no longer dark brown and I don't want light blonde hair?
also I don't know if it matters, but I am a male with short hair.

When you use a dye that is lighter than your hair, it is permanent. There's no masking dark colour to look light, it does exactly the same as bleach and it removes natural pigment from your hair. So no, it won't fade 🙂
