I've personally never used a kit (I purchase my bleach and developer separately) but I suggest using a product that has 20 volume developer if you can find it. It should be marked on the package. Anything more than that can cause scalp burns and is not recommended for previously processed hair. Use it on unwashed hair (at least a day since washing) and coat your hair with coconut oil at minimum an hour before bleaching then bleach right over the oil. It will help protect your hair against damage.

For a more natural look, you can use a toner ( or purple shampoo) after you bleach to tone down the yellow/orange tones
Like Piscine, i buy my bleach and developer separately but in my starting days, i used to use either the manic panic highlighting kit ( 30 vol peroxide) or the jerome russell ones. The Jerome russell ones are more widely available in the shops and they have lower peroxide ones too.
