I have a patch of hair at the back of my head, on the crown which is broken to about an inch long. It's about 2 inches wide. I have a long pixie cut which I wear parted to the side so I can kind of comb it over, but do you think it's better to get a really short pixie so I can try to blend this short bit in as it grows? ๐ฎ
It's going to be at its worst at this length, so if you can hide it now I don't see the need to cut it any shorter unless you want to. It's of course going to be easier to not have to work to hide it and get the cut, but it's entirely up to you.
Maybe you could ask your hairdresser if there's a cut you could have that is shorter in that area but keeps a bit of length at the front?
That is a good idea. I did do that once a couple of years ago when I had a hairdresser do my roots and she fried the crown area. I ended up with short at the back and longer at the front. I liked it actually.
I think that style can look really nice! You can still do stuff with the fringe then like mini braids or quiffs.
I have a short pixie cut where I have a longer front and the back of my head I have shaved down to about 1/4 inch all the way up to about 1 1/2- 2 inches before my crown and then I just have lots of layers throughout to blend the shortest pieces with the longest pieces. I've had a pixie cut for over a year now and I love it, I 've had multiple lengths in the front and back but I think my most recent cut which is what I've described is probably my favorite.
