Hi I posted about 6 weeks ago after I had my hair done in the hairdressers but it went black . She said it needed to be dark as it was covering pink but I couldn't stand it this dark so I used colour b4 3 times and it went a gingery brown but now it's back dark !! I really want it a lighter mousey brown but not sure how to achieve this ? Need to do something about it now as I have grey roots coming through 😩

If it reoxidised then you need to use colour remover again but rinse much more thoroughly.

Ok thanks, can I use it again even though I've used it 3 times in a row about 4 weeks ago? I rinsed Atleast half an hour each time how long would you recommend ?

I have never had issues with reoxidation personally.
Rinse for at least an hour under really hot water, whilst keeping the hair moving. It doesn't have to all be done in one sitting, you can shampoo and rinse well every day for a week after the initial rinsing.

Ok so I've used colour b4 yesterday and my hair was much lighter but today it looks darker already!! I rinsed for 20 mins, dried it before last buffer then rinsed for another 15 mins. So am I best to wash with baby shampoo and no conditioner today ? Is it ok to use hairdryer afterwards or could this have an effect?

Do you straighten your hair? What shampoo and conditioners do you use? Styling products?

The main time I've heard of this happening, it appears to be that silicone has been melted onto the hair. This leaves a permanent coat on the hair and stops the dye molecules coming out. Removers shrink the molecules so they'll slip out. If they aren't coming out, they just grow again eventually. Hopefully this isn't it, but it seems most likely to me I'm afraid.

I usually use treseme shampoo and the Aussie conditioner. I do sometimes use a straightener maybe once or twice a week.

Hmm, most of the Aussie conditioners are loaded with silicone, so it could well be that.

Have you been using clarifying shampoo before doing the remover?

I used it for the initial wash before the colour remover

And you didn't use conditioner?

No I didn't or after using colour b4 or this morning when I washed with baby shampoo

Ok, just have to check, trying to think of everything!

At the moment, the best culprit I can see is silicone stuck and stopping the dye coming out πŸ™
