hey
my natural hair is dark brown (number 3).
my currently hair is dyed to jet black.
My dream since i was young is to have dark blonde hair that looks natural.
from my experience , when I tried to dye to bright shade, the result is always with strange orange and sometimes yellow.
the brightest color I succeed to get without looking strange is number 5 (medium brown) and it was a bit ginger but still looks natural.
My target is to be a "natural" dark blonde (number 7)
I have light skin and medium brown beard and I know how to dye brows so maybe I have a chance.
any suggestions please?
I am not afraid from harsh chemicel and amonia, and I dont want semi permanent dyes.
I've seen a lot of posts on here about using a blue or purple die to make your own toner to calm the yellow and oranges. I myself just bleached my dark hair to blonde. I had to use a color remover first, then bleached it which does make it yellow, but I used wella t14 toner with is a pale ash blonde toner with blue and violet undertones and it did calm down the brassy and yellow-ness down quite a bit. You could try either method, but I don't think its going to be a 1 step process.
T14 is for a much brighter blonde, you don't want to use that.
As your hair is dyed black, you might have trouble. Depending on the dye you used, you're likely to have red staining that will be hard to remove and bleach isn't made to remove dye, only natural pigment. So, start off by using a colour remover. It depends on the country you're in for recommendations. But it has to be a remover, not a stripper. You can do them up to three time. At that point you can start to bleach, but it'll be easier to advise once you've got to that stage. Going blonde isn't a quick process, especially from dyed black hair.

hey Janineb
I dyed my hair from jet black to meduim ginger in the past, and I used regular bleach kit in order to remove the black dye , it works fine.. There is no color remover in my country. There is no toners also. someone adviced me to buy a hair color with the word "ash". will it work to cancel orange?
Black dye bleaches out to an orange shade, which is fine if you want ginger but not ideal if you want ash toned blonde. Ash tones are difficult to achieve over orange, you need blue rather than 'ash' which is often green. A dark ash brown may be possible, but ash blonde will be extremely unlikely

my natural hair color also bleaches to orange..
so what "ash" dye cancel?
If if bleach to yellow stage, dark blonde/ light brown ash dye will cancel the strange yellow?
Natural hair goes from black to red to orange to yellow. If you keep lightening it would go lighter than orange.
Black dye rarely bleaches past bright neon orange.
Two very different things.
It will be very difficult to get from the orange to a cool toned brown. If you use blue based dyes to neutralise the orange you are looking at a neutral brown rather than a cool/ash tone. Those warm tones are going to be strong.
I think getting a natural looking dark ash blonde will be very unlikely over previously dyed black hair

hey
1 year ago, I dyed my hair jet black about 3-4 times because it fades. when I wanted to dye ginger, I bleached and some on the hairs was yellow. I dont want the cool tone, i want neutral tone, I looking for dye that will cancel the orange/warm tones, so I thought about the ash dye
When you say some of the hairs went yellow, do you mean the roots? Or individual strands?
But it doesn't really matter, if you can't get your hair past the orange stage on ALL of your hair then you can't have blonde or light brown. Only medium brown. You almost certainly won't get past the orange stage by using bleach directly on dyed black hair. And the orange you get is really hard to tone, meaning it goes a shade of brown on the darker side. And it'll still likely be on the red side, so never really neutral.
If that's what you want to do though, use a blue dye (not one that you mix with peroxide) mixed with conditioner to make your own toner. An ash based dye won't be enough to cancel out the orange you're going to get. If you have yellow you need purple to neutralise. If you have a mixture of yellow and orange, you'll struggle. Put blue on yellow and you'll get green.

I didn't mean the roots. whole hairs went yellow and most of the hair orange. If I was bleach again all the hair went yellow..
I used black (number 1) loreal excellence (contain amonia).
blue dye - you mean a hair color that dye the hair to unnatural blue?
I have to bleach all the hair to yellow or orange? can't do ombre?
ash dye cancel only orange? not yellow?
to which stage (medium orange, light orange, yellow) I have to get in order to dye to color like in the picture?
thank you !!
