I used two boxes of extra strength B4 colour removers, I kept it under a showercap, and spent 45-50 minutes literally having my hair against a direct, very hot stream of air from a heater, my hair was so hot it hurt to touch it. I might have gone a little overboard, but I hated the brown perm dye leftovers in my hair so much I was like you ain't staying honey.
The first one took a lot of the brown out, a lot. The second one did a pretty good job as well. I probably could use third application, as there's still a bit of ginger/brown at the back, but I got most of it out I guess.
Spent a lot rinsing it out, not as much as Katie suggested, I spent, in total, probably about 30-40 minutes rinsing, but hey ho π
My hair doesn't feel dry at all, feels soft and gorgeous, but I'll apply some coconut and olive oil as I plan on doing a bleach bath soon π
Smells funny, like a mix of jelly and sewage.
Big shout out and thank you to katie for patiently and kindly answering all my colour removing dilemmas, you rock!!!
I should keep you updated where I take it next, if I do, in the future! π
The before and after pic is slightly unrealistic, I struggled to take a good pic, well, in a nutshell, I had a mix of very dark yellow, brown, ginger, now my hair is mostly yellow, a bit of pale yellow and a bit of ginger
WOWWIEE!
Im still a bit nervous to try Colour b4 but after a few peoples results Im going to have to!
Wow! This is the most beautiful, even result I have ever seen from using a color remover! It looks awesome! I'm so happy I was able to help you, I'm here anytime π It really looks fabulous, I'm so happy for you!
This is a wonderful result π
The first photo as great as it looks is unrealistic, as the before one was taken in a shadow, so I'm uploading another before and after with the after one being in a similar lighting. Moreover I include one more pic, taken in a regular daylight.
As I said, my hair went from dark golden with brown/ginger bits to yellow with only ginger bits, no brown anymore π but the colour has definitely been evened out a lot, I want to take it to pale yellow so I am planning on doing a bleach bath and we'll see π
I am just in awe at how pretty this is! It looks like it was intentionally lightened + dyed to this. It looks like you already have some pale yellow strands + areas! Bleaching should be a total breeze from here on. A 20 vol spot bleach bath or two.on the darker areas should be just fine. It really looks fabulous though now, you did a great job π
Aww thanks so much! actually I got couple more off-topic questions, so I'll just go with the flow and ask them here.
When I apply oil/water/any product onto my hair, the bits that had perm dye in the past, that look yellow in real life when dry, darken. I don't know if it's just a natural occurrence or if there's still some dye left. There probably is, cuticles may be stained or sth, but it worries me a bit.
Should I proceed with another colour remover, like provoke or jobazz, or go straight to bleach bathing?
I plan on using a semi perm dye, and I don't want my final result to be affected by some dye leftovers.
I am genuinely impressed how good my hair looked and felt considering it was clarified, stripped of nearly all colour molecules, heated up to the point of my fingers hurting from just touching it. Whether it's joico or coconut oiling constantly, I'm impressed and happy π
One more question, how resilient is my white hair? I want to bleach bath but I'm really worried that the white bits, which there's plenty of, will break off in a heartbeat... We'll see. I will oil the crap out of my hair, dilute the bleach with conditioner, and keep it only for 25-30 minutes, 20 vol.
Thanks for all the tips once again and for your kind words on the overall result <3
Maybe don't BB just yet and wait and see how your hair feels after a week or so, better to err on the side of caution!
