Bleaching disaster - any advice appreciated!

Hi everyone  😀

I have previously bleached sections of my hair before, quite successfully and dyed over the top. I thought I would take the plunge and go for an all over bleach this time (it's 3 months since I last put any bleach on). Unfortunately, I don't think I got the mixture right and I had a much smaller amount of powder and peroxide than I thought I had. As it's Easter Sunday and I had a head full of coconut oil, I decided to crack on regardless. I thought I had covered all my head quite well, doing my roots last but I did notice that the mixture was quite powdery by the time I got to the end. I left it on for about 40 minutes as I could see some sections were going quite light and I daren't risk any longer.

Anyway, the result is awful. Some of my roots are a lovely light yellow, some of my hair is brown (barely touched by the bleach) and some of it is a few shades lighter but not exactly blonde. I have some bits that don't look to have been lifted at all.

I have bought Directions Fire to go over the top, so I was wondering how forgiving is it? And also, if I am really careful not to overlap, could I bleach the bits that look to have been missed altogether (coconut oiling again) or shouldn't I risk it? Would a bleach bath in a week be a better option, bearing in mind that I will have the Fire on by then.

I am really hoping that the Fire will look ok and I can worry about the missed bits another time but any advice at all is much appreciated!!

Thank you in advance

Maehem x

Can you post a pic of the current colour?
Reds are quite forgiving as in they will still look red on an orange or brown base, but you will get an uneven result on an uneven base.
Directions reds are not the most pigmented red dyes, although Fire is one of their better shades IME.

Thanks for your reply, I can't take a pic as I've already put the colour on (I'm limited time-wise) I thought I'd just go for it and see what happens. Fingers crossed it doesn't look too bad or I'm going to work with a paper bag on my head for the next few weeks!
