Bleaching and recolouring - I just don't understand what I need to do!

Right, so about 6 months ago I used live color XXL mystic violet, but didn't like the fade to pinky-red.  So got directions plum and have used that ever since.  However, it's dark purple on my mid brown hair, and I would like to go a much brighter purple (maybe even change to violet, or something else).  So I'm assuming what I need to do is lighten my hair, then use the plum/violet on that?  I'm new to this, so I need it explained in really simple step by step terms.

I have an Olia bleach, B+++ maximum bleach it says on the box with up to 8 tone lift.  Is this OK to use?  Or should I be getting something else?  And do I need to use colorB4 first before bleaching, or do I just go straight to bleach?

Will bleaching help with the colour hold in my hair too?  Sorry for all the questions but I don't want to get this too wrong!

Start with a colour remover to get the old dye out. It will be very difficult to get an even result otherwise.
Then wait a week and several washes.
You will need to lighten your hair to at least a dark blonde for a vivid violet toned purple.
I would recommend a really good professional quality bleach over a box dye or drugstore kit, you will get more lift and less damage because you can use a lower volume developer. I have never used the kit you have, but if it offers 8 levels of lift I would guess it has a very high vol developer. You could phone and ask them

Thank you so much!

So, in this order then:

ColourB4
Wait a week
Bleach
Colour

Yes?

I've used Olia colours in the past (couple of years ago) and they say they are less damaging although I've never used this one.

Yes, that is correct, you have to wash your hair a lot after a colour remover or the colour can re-oxidise. Then you need to allow your natural oils to build back up before bleaching.
Bleach is different than permanent colour, it may be ok, or it may not. I wouldn't risk it personally, I would use professional products. I would at least find out what level peroxide is included in the kit.
