Bleach-resistant product? How to bleach streaky hair?

Hi, I've got a problem :s My hair colour is very uneven, I want to bleach just about 70% of my hair at mid-length, avoiding the roots and the ends.

Because bleaching is quite a messy process I was thinking of maybe applying some product on the hair I don't want to bleach as a kind of barrier, in case bleach got onto them?

If there isn't anything you can think of, maybe I should use like a plastic foil, shrink wrap or anything?

Thanks for any advice!!

Bleach will eat through most substances, so you are best using foil etc to keep the areas you don't want to get bleach on completely separate.

I would try isolating the hair in foils. It will prevent the bleach from spreading.

I put Vaseline/petroleum jelly on my undercut to protect it from bleach but it's really hard to get out; not sure how pleasant it would be on the roots of longer hair but it might work for the ends?
