Hi all!
2 days ago I went to a hair salon with good reviews for a balayage. I showed her this photo and said I didn't want any harsh lines (she used the teasing method). After I pointed out the harsh lines, she said that it would fade after a few washes. Is she correct?
Thanks!
Yikes. No, you got a botch job, unfortunately. I would go back and demand it be fixed.
^^^ I agree with BabyJ. That is definitely not a balayage. If she knew the correct method, which as a stylist she should, there is no need for her to tease your hair. I would 100% be going back to get it corrected and some sort of gesture. Or your money back. With an experienced stylist, it should be fairly simple to correct.
I agree as well, a bad job. Although the style in the photo you took with you is curly, so that might make a bit of difference, dunno. I'm just picturing that model with her hair straightened - she might have some harsh lines too.
I can't tell if she did highlights on the top and framing the face though. From your photo, it doesn't look like it, and if she left that out, then that's clearly not what you asked for!
Definitely go back; that's not blended at all. Also, bleached hair doesn't "fade" in to softer lines/colours, that's a complete fallacy. Complain that it's not what you asked for and demand that either the stylist or the salon manager fix it.
The model has had highlights to frame her face.
I would have to agree with the others though, that is not a good dye job at all. The 'stylist' obviously had no idea what she was doing. Not only are the lines harsh but they're all over the place. If I were you I'd be going back to complain and get it put right or my money back.
I agree with everyone else, that is not balayage at all, at best (sorry) its a bad attempt at ombre. No it definitely wont fade. She obviously hasn't understood balayage. the colours around the models face is correct for balayage, it should never have an obvious marked line. Id go back π
I agree with the others, this doesn't look like balayage at all unfortunately. And bleached hair does not 'fade' or eventually look more blended. I would call or go back and speak to the manager to get it fixed. It looks like a poorly done dip dye. It looks like she has a few pieces framing her face too which looks really good. It looks like you need the bleach blended up in areas but the dark needs to be blended down in others + the lighter area toned more so it's cooler toned like your dark hair
I suppose I'm hearing the advice to go back and have it fixed, so my only advice would be to ensure they don't do more damage.
Sorry if I missed it, but I'm not sure what treatments were applied to your hair to create the 'balayage' she didn't do right. If there was a demi or semi with peroxide for the dark areas, and a bleach to lighten, then make sure you are aware there might be double-processing in certain areas if she does fix anything.
If the dark is virgin hair, then it would be fine if she goes in and creates some highlights.
Just thought I'd mention, as many salons don't know what they're doing, and this one obviously doesn't know how to balayage!
Muuuch better! Glad you went back!
That looks so much better, glad you went back and she was cool about it π
