I keep an eye on the threads (lurking in the background if you like) about bleaching as I wanted to do mine for some time (2 years)but wanted to make sure that I did it right without orange, and many thanks to many folk on here I have managed it.
However my hair is extremely dry, and feels very slimy when wet. Lots of breakage too, and when I break a strand it does go curly.
I bleach bathed to lift the colour and then tinted with Wella 9A Very Light Ash Blonde, not what I wanted I thought so a month later I lifted the roots and tinted with Wella 8A Light Ash Blonde but found it too dark π So the next time I bleach bathed again but used a box bought colour Schwarzkopf Hair mask Pearl Blonde and I'm happy with the colour, but at a cost.
I have used coconut oil, regular use Tresemme Keratin Smooth, Matrix hair balm and what I've had good results from Aphogee two step treatment and still not getting any better. I have the hiar to spare to cut but any further advice I have missed would be grateful. Due to be coloured next weekend as it'll be 5 weeks and there's a good cm of growth.
I use 20% Wella developer and wholesale own brand blue bleach with clear shampoo for the bleach bath.
Thanks in advance
The likely cause of the damage is that you have double processed three times. The blonde dyes are just as damaging, often more so, than the bleach baths. Do you know what level of peroxide you used? It will be better for your hair to find a way of achieving the color you want in one step. So either a blonde dye just on your regrowth or use bleach and tone with a non damaging semi.
There is no way to permanently repair damaged hair. A combination of protein and rehydrating treatments can help, (Joico Deep Penetrating Reconstructor and the Hydrating conditioner are very popular) but the only way to get your hair healthy again is to cut the worst damaged parts off.
Bleached hair is always fragile, you will need to change your whole haircare routine now. Avoid any heat styling and wash as infrequently as possible with cool water only.. Consider changing to CO washing or at least using SLS free shampoo. Finishing with cold water and/or a vinegar rinse can help to seal the cuticle too.
