So, it's half seven, i'm getting ready to go to a funeral today. Not an amusing start to a story I will grant you. It's an old work collegue, and there will be people there whom I haven't seen for a couple of years, when I had long reddish hair.
Now, after about two and a half months of playing with my hair, it was finally almost all over white/silver with a hint of lavender, which I actually quite liked given my scruffy short cut. Then, this morning, I shampoo it with my purple shampoo but I decide to leave it in a bit longer, just a couple of minutes, not half an hour or anything. condition well, finish the bath/shower, towel dry hair and look in the mirror....... ARGGHHHHH ๐ฎ PiNK!!!!
The violet shampoo turned my lovely silvery hair PiNK! There's no time to do anything about it, clarified it once but didn't make any difference... I have to leave in two hours and must now try to pull off dark coloured clothes and black boots with bright pastel pink hair!
So, a warning to all... don't leave Lush Violet hair shampoo in for even a couple of minutes if you don't want to look like a candy floss advert. Shit. Im a mid forties year old woman, going to a funeral with pink hair. Sigh. *gun*
Sounds lovely actually! I can't really see what's wrong with pink hair to a funeral at any age either ๐ If I had a funeral to go to in the next week I'd be going with neon orange and neon pink hair (and I'm 41), so I hope no one would think that inappropriate. Well, if they did I guess they'd just have to mutter under their breath and get on with it ๐
I know it's a bit different when it's not what you want or expect, but if I were really uncomfortable about it, I'd bung on a hat or a scarf.
I went to a funeral with green hair. The people that mattered (my family) weren't bothered and that was good enough for me. I was playing with the thought of dying my hair a natural colour when my very close relative will pass away (she's terminally ill), but she said she wouldn't want me to do something like that and if anything, if I'd dye my hair in her favourite colour, which is turquoise.
But of course having some unexpected result is annoying, especially if you don't like the outcome. Like Janine said, a hat or a scarf or beanie even would cover up some/all of your hair.
I went to a funeral (first time, at 26, ah well) with a quad coloured hair, everyone who knew me weren't bothered anyway.
I went to my grandmother's funeral with blue hair. Her friends thought it was marvellous - and these were ladies nearly 100 years old ๐ (I couldn't quite believe that at 97, my grandmother still had three friends alive that she'd been at school with - amazing.)
I had pink hair at my Grandads funeral.
It wasn't the fact that it was pink as such, more that it was unexpected!! In the end I think it was the universes sense of humour (or maybe style) since it dried to a pale silvery purple/pink that actually matched the purple velvet skirt and victorian style jacket I was wearing!!! Most people thought it was deliberate and liked it so hey!
At least we now know that, if you want silvery pinky/purple hair, use Lush Violet shampoo over directions silver hair and leave it on for a few minutes! ๐
Sorry that happened, but so chuffed to hear it looked intentional in the end - that's pretty cool.
And to be honest, that's a bit tempting to try, ha ha.
If you remember and feel like it, could you perhaps update us as to how it fades? ๐
It sounds really pretty, can you take a pic?
That turned out really pretty! I'm not surprised everyone thought it was intentional ๐
