Advice please! Bleaching!

Hello!
It's been a long time since I've been on here! Mainly because I've had to have natural hair for work for the past few years. But now I can go crazy so I'm back  *yay*

So, my hair is naturally dark blonde/light ash brown. And the ends of my hair have been bleached a while ago for an ombre effect. I have been putting Directions Violet all over my hair for the past few weeks. Obviously it took a lot better to the ends than my natural hair but still looked nice. It's almost completely faded out my natural hair now but there's still some in the ends.

I'd like to go back to being all over lilac. So my questions are. What bleaching kit would be best to use? Brand? Strength etc? (Cruelty free & Vegan pls) my hair is just below shoulder length so how many boxes would I need? Also can I just put the bleach on now or do I need to wait for the remains of the colour to come out first?

Thank so much for any replies!  πŸ™‚

If you're going for a pastel lilac colour you probably want to fade the dark purple parts of your hair more before bleaching. You'll need to assess whether the hair underneath the violet parts is light enough for a pastel lilac or whether you need to bleach bathe it. I'd avoid doing a full bleach over the ends if possible to save damage.

Your natural hair looks pretty light so you'd probably be able to get it light enough for a lilac shade with one 30vol bleaching session with good quality bleach powder  ( I wouldn't reccomend a box bleach kit). Maybe even 20 vol peroxide, you could try a strand test with both.

I typically suggest matrix light master or wella Blondor bleach but I'm not sure about the vegan/cruelty free status of those brands. Any generic peroxide is fine.

Thank you for replying! πŸ™‚

I will wait till the purple fades more out the ends, Then I will bleach the rest of my hair and possibly bleach bath the ends.

I had a look online and I know Matrix isn't cruelty free as they are owned by L'Oreal, same thing with the Blondor and Wella πŸ™ boo! I'll start another thread asking about Vegan & Cruelty free bleach and peroxide and see if anyone knows any that aren't the kits.

Are the Manic Panic kits any good? or Directions? Just I know they are vegan and cruelty free.

Thanks again for your help! πŸ™‚

I didn't think they would be πŸ™

I've used the directions one before and it was o.k. But the bleach powder isn't brilliant so you'll have to leave it on for longer. And it doesn't work out very cost effective. Sorry I can't be more help with cruelty free stuff.

Directions Violet goes green when bleached, so I would fade it as much as possible first
