Advice??

Hi there! I'm kind of new to this whole forum thing, so please pardon me if I seem like I have no idea what I'm doing. I just wanted to see if any more experienced Hair Guru types could give me some words of wisdom concerning becoming a blondie.
So my hair's been through a lot of phases over the years... from pixie cut to almost chest-length, and it's been dyed with blues, greens, pinks, fire engine red, natural red, and weird ash browns. Naturally, the colour of my hair is a light-to-medium brown, with some reddish highlights when it's been getting quite a lot of sun, but lord knows I haven't seen a full head of my natural colour in 4 years or so.
In it's current state of dying, I should probably explain my way back to the last time I bleached it. About 14 months ago, I had a chin-length bob, and I bleached it to dye it with Manic Panic's Hot Hot Pink. It wasn't the best bleach job ever, but it did the trick and the pink looked fine. But of course, the semi-permanent pink washes out to a kinda gross patchy bubblegum mess, so I dyed it a natural red and left it be. A year later, with no dyes and just enough haircuts to rein in the occasional split end, it looks like the attached photo. Note the lots of brown roots growing in.
I don't hate the colour, but right now it's just a little brassy and I've had the same thing going on for awhile, so I wanted to change it up and go blonde. I was blonde as a kid, and it looked cute as all getout, so I was thinking maybe like a natural kind of honey-blonde or, if I could somehow pull it off, a less natural-looking white-blonde.
If anybody actually bothers to read this, could you talk me through how i could get to one or both of those kinds of blonde from where I'm currently at? It'd be a huge help.
Thanks so much and have a great day!  ;D
