Would these conditioners from Lush work for this?

Happy Happy Joy Joy

or

Veganese
?

All my other hair, skin and such products come from Lush as well, so if one of these (or both) can be used to CO wash, it's easier for me to get than to search for one in regular shops in the Netherlands.

My first CO wash was very successful =] Used Superdrug rasberry and macadamia nut conditioner and my hair feels lovely.

Will i still need to shampoo periodically to do a 'proper' hair clean, or is CO washing enough on it's own?

I think if you use silicone-free hair care products you can CO-wash all the way. If you do use them (things like serum...not sure about other stuff) then it's best to do a clarifying shampoo wash about once a month to get rid of them.

I like the rasp and macadamia conditioner too :)

Some people get along fine with nothing but co washing, others like to do a shampoo if they feel their hair isn't getting as clean after a while (hard water can cause build up even if you're cone free, for example). You can clarify using a standard SLS shampoo or alternatively try a low-poo which has milder cleansers than a sulphate shampoo. Easy ones to get hold of are Naked from Boots or the Rainforest range from The Body Shop.

I've just got a Naked heat defence thingy and really liked it.

Are all of the Naked shampoos suitable? Before I learned about co-washing, I've been using Directions shampoo which has worked alright for me, but figure that if I'm doing it, I should be doing it properly!

Thanks =]

Here's a link to naked's site on SLS: http://www.nakedbodycare.co.uk/sls, AFAIK that makes them classed as lo-poo but I'm not an expert!

I have been co washing for a couple of months but was having a seriously bad hair day so tried an SLS clarifying wash. I wish I hadn't, my hair felt awful after despite a deep conditioning treatment.

There's a lot to be said for trial and error though, YMMV.

Ah grand, ta!

I think I'll see how long I can go without shampooing once I've re-dyed in a few days. When all else fails, I've got about a dozen bottles of dry shampoo in at the moment =]
