Looks great, but I have never been able to work out how these things work.  I bought a cheapy one once and try as I might my hair never looked like a proper bun.

I think this works better to create a "bun" style. I had one when I had long hair, looks great and very easy to do. This is a "neat" bun in the pic, but you can also do a more "messy" one ;) I bought mine at claire's

this is a good tutorial on how to use bun rings, and she has a nice medium length hair too.

it looks like yours is an adjustable version of the normal bun rings.

Lurking somewhere on the forum is a tutorial for sock buns. Where you cut ff the toe of a sock, slide the tube over your hair and then roll it down with your hair to make a bun. Because of the elastic in the sock it stays wherever you roll it down to. I think there's a video on youtube.

There it is! The woman goes on and on for a bit but it is a good vid all the same. I did giggle when she realised she hadn't got an elastic band to tie it with though lol.

Mathurine - I had a search and cannot see the sock bun tutorial on here but I will add the link to this thread if I can find it.  That vid is brilliant btw and although I think you would need fairly long hair for the neat result, the second way of doing it looks amazing!

i didnt think id be able to do it with my hair, i seem to think i can do NOTHING with it lol! its just past my shoulders and i had it in my head that for a night out i could only wear extensions and style them. that was good when i had black hair and could match them up easy!
i 'discovered' another hairstyle that looks alright too yesterday woo ill be using that one friday night :)
